La Vieille Ferme BLANC 2024 1.5L WHITE MAGNUM
La Vieille Ferme · Blanc · Luberon AOC · Rhône · France · 2024 · Magnum 1.5L
La Vieille Ferme is produced by the Perrin family — the same family behind Château de Beaucastel, one of the Southern Rhône’s most celebrated estates — and it is widely regarded as one of the world’s great value white wines. Affectionately known as the “Chicken Wine” for its colorful label, the Blanc blends Bourboulenc, Grenache Blanc, Ugni Blanc, and Vermentino from the Luberon for a fresh, aromatic, and food-friendly expression of the Southern Rhône. Now in a generous 1.5L magnum — the ideal format for the table, the patio, or any gathering that deserves a second glass.
The 2024 pours pale yellow-green with silver undertones. The nose opens with crisp green apple, pear, and a bouquet of mountain flowers — white thorn and wild verbena. On the palate, juicy fruit and great freshness lead to a saline finish that adds length and savoriness. Lovely balance, delicate bitterness on the close, and the kind of effortless drinkability that has made this wine a global phenomenon.

La Vieille Ferme Blanc 2024 1.5L White Magnum
La Vieille Ferme · Blanc · Luberon · Rhône Valley, France · 2024 · 1.5L Magnum
La Vieille Ferme is produced by the Perrin family — the same family behind Château de Beaucastel, one of the most celebrated estates in all of Chateauneuf-du-Pape. Drawing on generations of expertise in the southern Rhône, the Perrins created La Vieille Ferme as their benchmark everyday wine: a bottle that delivers genuine Rhône character at a price that makes it a weekly staple rather than a special occasion. The Blanc is a blend of Grenache Blanc, Vermentino, Roussanne, and Bourboulenc, sourced from the Luberon appellation and vinified to preserve freshness, aromatics, and the clean mineral character of the region. Now in 1.5L magnum format — double the wine, double the occasion. At $17.99, this is one of the world's great value white wines.
Pale gold in the glass with a bright, inviting hue. The nose opens with citrus blossoms, juicy peach, and ripe pear, with a subtle lift of tropical fruit. On the palate: crisp and refreshing, with flavors of green apple, pear, and zesty lemon carried by lively acidity and a clean, mineral finish. Each variety in the blend plays its role — Grenache Blanc for body, Vermentino for aromatics, Roussanne for texture, Bourboulenc for freshness. Serve well-chilled as a generous aperitif for a crowd, or pair with light seafood, grilled fish, fresh salads, goat cheese, or charcuterie.

E. Guigal Côtes du Rhône Blanc 2022 375ml | Half Bottle
Expert Review — Vintage 2022
Jeb Dunnuck — 90 Points | Mostly Viognier (55%) but with other permitted white varieties, the 2022 Côtes Du Rhône Blanc has a medium-bodied, vibrant, pure style to go with lovely peach and tangerine-like aromas and flavors. Drink this outstanding, classy white over the coming 2-3 years. I never cease to be amazed at the quality of the Côtes du Rhône white from this team, especially given the quantities produced.

Its color is a golden-yellow-green. It exhales fine scents of flowers and white-fleshed fruits. Its characteristic is a well-balanced structure, beginning with a round and fruity taste of peach and apricot and ending on a fresh and persistent note of citrus fruits. Its best aromatic expression is immediately reached in the first year and it continues for two-to-three years.
August Clape St. Peray BLANC 2022 750ml
Points Decanter | Quince and pear. Rich and ripe but not overly so, it's silky on the palate, fairly high in alcohol, enjoyably full and opulent, with a fresh core. Includes a new parcel this year of 70-year-old Marsanne, so is now around 90% Marsanne, 10% Roussanne. The rest is a mix of 60-year-old and seven-year-old vines. Vinified in oak.
