Castello di Bossi · Chianti Classico DOCG · 2023
From a historic estate founded in 1099 and farmed for over four decades by the Bacci family, Castello di Bossi stands as one of Chianti Classico's most trusted names. Situated just south of Siena on 600 hectares of rolling Tuscan hills, the estate is fully certified organic, powered by renewable energy, and committed to wines that speak honestly of their terroir.
The 2023 Chianti Classico Organic delivers everything you want from a great Sangiovese — deep ruby-red in color, with aromas of ripe cherries, red plums, dried flowers, and a subtle hint of toasted vanilla. The palate is superbly structured with bright acidity, silky tannins, and a long, pleasantly savory finish that lingers beautifully. Pure, expressive, and undeniably delicious.
93 Points — James Suckling
"Aromatic with dried cherries and flowers with some mint and spices. Medium-bodied with crunchy fruit and a crisp finish. Delicious. Pure Sangiovese. So delicious and real." (Vintage 2023).

Expert Reviews - Prior Vintage 2022
James Suckling writes: A very pretty Chianti classsico with dried cherries, orange peel, cedar, white truffles and chalk. The palate is medium-bodied with crunchy fruit and a flavorful finish. Hints of orange peel at the end. From organically grown grapes. Drink now and enjoy. - James Suckling 93
Michaela Morris writes: In the southern district of Castelnuovo Berardenga, Castello di Bossi’s extensive vineyards expand over the gently rolling hills, encompassing a range of soils and altitude. The annata provides an illustrative snapshot of this warm, luminous pocket. It starts with seductive earthy nuances of mushroom, truffle, mint and black tea. Harmonious and enveloping, the lithesome palate brings together sweet, dark berries with tactile powdery tannins. The structure sneaks up, making for a substantial frame yet ultimately remains gracious. The finish trails off with a suggestion of dried rose. Drinking 2025 to 2030. - Decanter 90
