Luberri is the young wine of the winery, crafted through the traditional carbonic maceration method in Rioja Alavesa, which remarkably enhances the aromas of fresh red and purple forest fruits, perfectly ripe, as well as floral tones of violets and hints of licorice. On the palate, it is an agile and fresh wine, with a vegetal and green almond finish that leaves a persistent memory. It is the pure expression of that brilliant youth that nature and knowledge ensure to renew in each vintage. Tempranillo 95%, Viura 5%.

At a recent Panel Tasting with fellow wine professionals for Sevenfifty.com I was able to to taste this beautiful and cheerful red from Rioja Alavesa made by winemaker Florentino Martinez Monje. Luberri Orlegi 2020 is a wonderful happy-go-lucky blend of Tempranillo & Viura using only native yeast to kick-start fermentation and carbonic macerated to preserve the youthfulness of the Tempranillo and Viura. Aromas of Blue fruit and purple flowers (violets and lilacs). On the palate the wine is fresh and pretty enticing. Beautiful finish. The perfect red for Thanksgiving with that is sure to bring lots of cheers to your dinner table.

Luberri Orlegi is the reference point for traditional, lighter-bodied, fruit-forward wines of Rioja Alavesa. Orlegi is produced from two estate vineyards: tempranillo from El Cuento at 415m and viura from Cuatroencias at 500m. Orlegi combines whole-cluster fermentation and standard fermentation with native yeasts in stainless steel to emphasize the fruit. The resulting wine is classic, fresh, and food-friendly. A delicious Tempranillo from Rioja for everyday drinking!
