Michel Sarrazin et Fils Givry Clos de la Roche 2023 750ml
Michel Sarrazin et Fils is a benchmark family domaine in Givry, one of the Côte Chalonnaise's most exciting appellations for Pinot Noir. The Clos de la Roche is a prized lieu-dit on the northern edge of Givry — a single-site wine grown at over 250 meters altitude on limestone-heavy soils with clay, farmed with organic practices and harvested from vines over 45 years old. This is serious Burgundy at a price that still makes sense.
The 2023 is a standout vintage for the domaine — round, juicy, and harmonious, with the kind of sappy fruit and supple structure that makes it equally compelling now or in the cellar. Fermented with indigenous yeasts, de-stemmed, and aged in barrel with 50% new oak, it delivers the full Givry terroir experience in every glass.
"Round and juicy with aromas of plums, cherries, black raspberries, violets and peppery spice on the nose. Well balanced and harmonious in the mouth with sappy fruit and supple tannins on the long satisfying finish. A very solid performance from the Sarrazin brothers!" — Bart Hopkins, 67Wine

The Sarrazin brothers are known for making spectacular high-altitude Côte Chalonnaise Burgundy from the village of Jambles, a tiny hamlet just outside of Givry that is 300 meters above sea level. The brothers have gained a reputation over the last decade for being meticulous stewards of their high-altitude vineyards around Givry, Mercurey and Maranges. They craft traditional wines that show a clarity of terroir not common in the region, with all of the fruit de-stemmed and extraction kept to a minimum. All of the wines are aged in barrique exclusively from the famed tonnelier Francois Frères and are bottled unfined and unfiltered. These are pure and mineral driven wines that deliver, textured and balanced Pinot Noir.
