Pielihueso Malbec/Cabernet Sauvignon Los Sauces Chacayes 2024 750ml
Experience the rich depth of Pielihueso Malbec/Cabernet Sauvignon, a wine that embodies the passion and organic farming philosophy of this family-owned estate. Spanish for "skin and bones," Pielihueso began in 2017 when father/daughter combo Alejandro and Celina Bartolome planted vines in Los Chacayes and Los Sauces, both subregions of the Uco Valley located within Tunuyán. This exquisite blend combines the elegance of Malbec with the structure of Cabernet Sauvignon, creating a delightful balance that captivates the palate.
High Elevation Organic Vineyard
50% Malbec, 50% Cabernet Sauvignon grown on a high elevation vineyard (3,900m) with vines ranging from 12 years (Malbec) to 72 years (Cabernet Sauvignon) in sandy/clay soils. The grapes are hand harvested and kept 50% whole cluster, then fermented in stainless steel tanks. All wines are farmed organically and made with no corrections, fermented with native indigenous yeasts, and a low addition of sulfur is added just before bottling.
Family Winemaking Philosophy
Alejandro comes from a long background in organic farming, and this is the family's first foray into wine. The winery's style focuses on making light, bright, clean, and vibrant wines that reflect the unique terroir of the Uco Valley. The labels were even created by the family - Carmela, the other daughter, designed them from their brother's artwork, making each bottle a true family collaboration.
Tasting Profile
Deep purple hue with an inviting aroma. The flavor profile is a tapestry of dark fruits, complemented by hints of spice and oak. Rich notes of blackberry and plum are coupled with soft tannins that provide a velvety mouthfeel. The addition of Cabernet Sauvignon adds complexity, introducing subtle layers of blackcurrant and a whisper of chocolate. Light, bright, clean, and vibrant character with a smooth finish. This wine is designed to be enjoyed young but has the potential to develop further nuances with age.
Los Chacayes & Los Sauces Terroir
This wine reflects the rich terroir of Los Sauces and Los Chacayes, subregions of the renowned Uco Valley in Tunuyán. The 2024 vintage stands out due to optimal growing conditions at high elevation, ensuring that only the finest grapes are harvested. The combination of sandy/clay soils, high altitude, and old vines (up to 72 years for Cabernet Sauvignon) creates wines of exceptional quality and character.
Food Pairing Suggestions
This incredibly versatile wine complements a variety of dishes:
- Grilled lamb and beef stew
- Hearty steaks and grilled meats
- Aged cheeses
- Roasted vegetables

Whether paired with rich dishes or savored on its own, Pielihueso Malbec/Cabernet Sauvignon offers a luxurious taste experience. As you indulge in this exceptional wine, let the robust flavors and smooth finish transport you to the picturesque vineyards of the Uco Valley, where each glass tells a story of family, organic farming, and dedication to crafting light, bright, and vibrant wines. Bodegas Beronia Rioja GRAN Reserva 2018 750ml
Beronia Wineries: Experience the Excellence of Rioja GRAN Reserva 2018
Our Professional Review
Oscar Garcia 67wino.shop | Beronia Gran Reserva is one of my favorite Gran Reservas. Every vintage seems to get better and better. The long-term aging Gran Reserva gives the wine time to develop a great arrange of flavors and nuances, not found in younger wines. Aromas of toasty oak, cassis, dark plum and cedar. Medium to full-bodied. Great length and integration. Serious but approachable.
Expert Reviews - Vintage 2018
James Suckling 92 Points | Attractive nose with a hint of walnut husk and dark earth to the black cherries and sweet tobacco. A hint of truffle and sous-bois, too. Medium-bodied on the palate with firm, dusty tannins that grow and extend in a long, succulent finish. Tempranillo, graciano and mazuelo.
The Wine Enthusiast 92 Points | Deep violet to the eye, this wine has a nose of black plum, dark chocolate and dried hillside herbs. Bold red berry flavors are joined by plush tannins and deeper notes of mocha, truffle and thyme. As flavors and textures wind down on the palate, a note of orange zest remains.
The Wine Spectator 90 Points | A classy red, fresh and fragrant, with notes of bay leaf, pepper and tar-tinged mineral accenting crushed cherry and blackberry fruit flavors. Shows good focus, with lightly chalky tannins in a medium-bodied frame. Tempranillo, Mazuelo and Graciano. Drink now through 2026. 50,000 cases made, 3,500 cases imported.
Memo Summary Notes
The Bodegas Beronia Rioja Gran Reserva 2018 represents the pinnacle of Beronia’s classic lineup. While the Mi Villa you looked at earlier is fresh and unoaked, this Gran Reserva is the complete opposite: a wine defined by patience, extensive aging, and complex secondary flavors.
A wine of this stature needs "heavy lifters" to match its intensity:
-
-
Game: Roasted duck or wild boar ragu.
-
Mature Cheeses: Aged Manchego, Roncal, or even a salty Blue cheese.
-
Umami Dishes: Anything involving truffles or wild forest mushrooms.
Red Meats: Slow-roasted lamb shanks, prime rib, or venison.
-
The Making of Rioja GRAN Reserva

This careful aging process ensures that the wine develops a wonderful balance of fruity and spicy notes. Because of this attention to detail, you can trust that every sip delivers a rich, sophisticated experience that complements many meals or stands alone as a delightful choice.

Domaine Louis Jadot Chambolle-Musigny 1er Cru Les Fuées 2022 750ml
Domaine Louis Jadot Chambolle-Musigny 1er Cru Les Fuées — Burgundy 2022
Les Fuées is one of Chambolle-Musigny's 24 Premier Cru vineyards, distinguished by chalky soil over hard bedrock and an eastern exposure that imparts a signature mineral precision. Jadot's 2022 is a textbook expression of the site — feminine, elegant, and layered, with fine tannins and a core of red and dark fruit framed by spice, violet, and exotic tea. Fermented in vats for up to four weeks and aged 18–20 months in oak, this is a wine built for the cellar: 15–20 years of development potential. James Suckling awarded it 96 points, calling it “outstanding.”
The nose is fragrant and cool: flowers, ripe plums, blood orange, cinnamon, exotic tea, and peonies. On the palate, medium to full body with velvety, saturated tannins and a succulent core of red and dark currant. The concentration is effortlessly offset by spicy acidity, fanning out on a long, mineral-driven finish of remarkable purity and tension. In a word, classy.
James Suckling 96 • Vinous 94 • Wine Advocate 94 • Burghound 92
Critical Acclaim - Vintage 2022
James Suckling — 96 Points
"This big and at first subtle wine opens with fragrant flowers, ripe plums and cinnamon, fills the palate with richness on a full body, but then tightens up on the finish to show it has the structure to age well. Outstanding wine to drink now."
Vinous Media — 94 Points
"The 2022 Chambolle-Musigny Les Fuées 1er Cru, which Frédéric Barnier said suffered less during the growing season, is a conspicuous step up in complexity from the Les Baudes: much more mineralé and precision, far more terroir expression. The palate is medium-bodied with saturated tannins, the concentration effortlessly offset by the spice of acidity. It's quite spicy as it fans out on the finish. Excellent."
The Wine Advocate — 94 Points
"The 2022 Chambolle-Musigny 1er Cru Les Fuées (Domaine Louis Jadot) is excellent, mingling aromas of sweet red berries with notions of blood orange, spices and peonies. Medium to full-bodied, velvety and seamless, it's deep and layered, with a succulent core of fruit and attractive purity and tension."
Burghound (Allen Meadows) — 92 Points
"This is aromatically quite cool and fresh as well as appealingly elegant on the mix of red and dark currant, exotic tea and violet-scented nose. The sleek, intense and succulent medium weight flavors aren't particularly concentrated yet the sap still manages to coat the palate on the lingering and balanced bitter pit fruit-inflected finale that is almost aggressively mineral-driven. This is a lovely and well-balanced Fuées with fine development potential, which is just as well as it does need to develop better depth. In a word, classy."

Pajarote Grapefruit & Bitter Herbs Cordoval Dix Liqueur 750ml
Warehouse stored item - please allow two to three business days to fulfill.
Created in 2001 by Monica Leyva with her brother, Rubén Leyva, Pajarote explores and shares the Mexican tradition of ponche essentially, punch but here expressed using flavors specific to Mexican heritage in the form of hand-crafted liqueurs. Tamarind, Chocolate, Guava, and Ginger lead the charge, with more flavors in the export pipeline (including a delightful Mexican take on the traditional Italian red bitter aperitif).
The spirits are made using cane distillate drawn from a traditional producer in Jalisco as a base and sweetened with piloncillo (coarse cane sugar), just as Monica’s grandmother sweetened her ponches when Monica was growing up. Following an altruistic model similar to sister-brand Mezonte, the brand also works closely with the communities from which its inspiration is drawn, sourcing ingredients carefully through ethical and sustainable suppliers.
Maynard’s Vintage Port 2007 750ml (Pre-Sale Price - ETA October 2026)
A beautifully mature Vintage Port from Portugal’s historic Douro Valley, Maynard’s Vintage Port 2007 combines richness, structure and the remarkable complexity that develops through extended bottle aging. Crafted from classic indigenous Douro grape varieties, this full-bodied Port offers depth and concentration while showing the increasingly refined character of a Vintage Port approaching two decades of evolution.
Produced from the highly regarded 2007 harvest, this is a traditional Vintage Port designed to develop primarily in bottle. Its deep color, concentrated fruit and firm structure have gradually softened and integrated with age, revealing greater elegance and complexity.
Region & Style
Country: Portugal
Region: Douro Valley
Appellation: Porto
Wine Type: Fortified Red Wine
Style: Vintage Port
Vintage: 2007
Bottle Size: 750ml
Alcohol: 20% ABV
Winemaker: Álvaro van Zeller
Grape Varieties
Maynard’s Vintage Port 2007 is produced from a traditional blend of classic Douro red grape varieties:
- Touriga Nacional
- Touriga Franca
- Tinta Roriz
- Tinta Barroca
- Tinto Cão
These indigenous varieties form the backbone of many of the Douro’s finest Vintage Ports, contributing intense fruit, aromatic complexity, structure and excellent aging potential.
Winemaking & Aging
The grapes are harvested from the steep vineyard terraces of the Douro when fully ripe. During fermentation, grape spirit is added to stop fermentation while a portion of the grapes’ natural sweetness remains, creating the richness, intensity and balance characteristic of Port.
Vintage Port spends only a relatively short period in wood before bottling and is intended to mature slowly in bottle. Over time, youthful fruit and firm tannins gradually integrate, while the wine develops greater aromatic depth, softer texture and increasingly complex secondary flavors.
Tasting Notes
Maynard’s Vintage Port 2007 displays a deep, concentrated color with a full-bodied and richly structured palate. The aromatic profile is fine and expressive, showing the depth and intensity expected from traditionally produced Vintage Port.
With bottle age, the wine has begun to soften and evolve, developing greater harmony, structural complexity and mature character while retaining the richness and concentration at its core.
The finish is long and composed, making this an excellent choice for lovers of mature, traditionally styled Vintage Port.
Serving & Decanting
Serve at approximately 16°C / 61°F.
Vintage Port naturally develops sediment as it matures in bottle. For best results, stand the bottle upright for approximately 24 hours before opening, allowing the sediment to settle, then decant carefully before serving.
Serve in a generous Port or red-wine glass to allow the wine’s mature aromas and complexity to fully unfold.
Food Pairing
A classic after-dinner wine, Maynard’s Vintage Port 2007 is an excellent companion to Stilton, Gorgonzola and other blue cheeses.
It also pairs beautifully with dark chocolate, chocolate desserts, walnuts, dried fruits and mature cheeses. For a savory pairing, try it with richly flavored dishes such as steak au poivre.
Cellaring
Store horizontally in a cool, dark environment with a stable temperature and minimal vibration. Vintage Port is one of the world’s great long-lived wine styles, and properly stored bottles can continue developing complexity for many years.
Because sediment is a natural result of bottle maturation, mature Vintage Port should be handled gently and decanted before serving.
About Maynard’s
Maynard’s is the flagship Port brand associated with Fernando and Álvaro van Zeller, continuing the van Zeller family’s centuries-old connection to the Port wine trade.
The Maynard’s name honors Walter Maynard, born in 1652, one of the early English merchants associated with shipping Port wine from Portugal to England. Today, the house continues this tradition through a collection of Vintage Ports, aged Tawnies and rare single-harvest Colheitas.
A mature Vintage Port with nearly two decades of development, Maynard’s 2007 offers richness, history and classic Douro character—an excellent bottle for the cellar, a special occasion or a memorable vintage-dated gift.

Campeador Rioja Reserva 2020 750ml
Campeador Rioja Reserva — Rioja, Spain 2020
Campeador is a name rooted in Spanish heritage — a tribute to El Cid, the legendary Castilian knight whose title "El Campeador" meant champion and master of military arts. The Rioja Reserva lives up to that name: a classically structured, age-worthy red built from an equal blend of Tempranillo and Garnacha, with Graciano adding depth and aromatic complexity. Aged to Reserva standards in oak and bottle, the 2020 vintage delivers the kind of rich, nuanced Rioja that rewards patience and pairs beautifully with the table.
The nose is warm and inviting: dark cherry, blackberry, dried plum, vanilla, and cedar, with earthy undertones of leather and dried herbs from the oak aging. On the palate, the wine is medium-to-full-bodied with a supple structure, well-integrated tannins, and a long, spiced finish of red fruit, tobacco, and toasted oak. Tempranillo brings the backbone and dark fruit; Garnacha adds roundness and warmth; Graciano contributes freshness and aromatic lift. Together they create a Reserva of genuine character and depth.

Domaine de la Grosse Pierre — Chiroubles, Beaujolais 2024
Pauline Passot’s story is one of the most compelling in Beaujolais. This is Beaujolais made with the seriousness of a grand cru and the soul of a grower who believes in her terroir.

Alexander Valley Vineyards Chardonnay 2023 750ml
Alexander Valley Vineyards Chardonnay — Alexander Valley, Sonoma County 2023
Alexander Valley Vineyards is one of Sonoma County's most storied family estates, farming the Alexander Valley AVA with a precision and philosophy that has made their Chardonnay one of the appellation's most consistent overachievers. The 2023 is built on a thoughtful split-harvest approach: 75% of the fruit is harvested at night when the grapes are cool, cold-fermented in stainless steel without malolactic fermentation or barrel aging to preserve bright citrus and green apple character; the remaining 25% is whole-cluster pressed and barrel-fermented in French oak, then aged on the lees for six to eight months to develop roundness, body, and complexity. The result is a full-bodied, beautifully balanced Chardonnay that earned 92 points from The Tasting Panel.
The nose opens with apple, pear, vanilla, floral notes, and a hint of oak — generous and inviting. On the palate, the wine is full-bodied and lush with flavors of grilled pineapple, baked pear, nectarine, juicy peach, and tropical fruit, cut by a bright acidity and a mineral core that keeps everything focused. The finish is subtly buttery and vanilla-flecked, long and satisfying. It is the kind of Chardonnay that rewards both the casual drinker and the wine enthusiast.

Tenuta di Ceppaiano Toscana Keith Haring 2017 750ml
Tenuta di Ceppaiano Toscana — Keith Haring Edition, Tuscany 2017
In 1989, Keith Haring traveled to Pisa to paint his iconic "Tuttomondo" mural — a monumental work that would become one of his last. During that visit, he gifted original artwork to the Castellani family of Tenuta di Ceppaiano, and that artwork now lives on the label of this wine. It is a collector's bottle in the truest sense: a 92-point Tuscan red wrapped in a piece of art history. The wine itself is a Sangiovese-led blend from the Toscana IGT, vinified to express the richness and depth of a warm, generous vintage. James Suckling awarded it 92 points.
The nose is complex and captivating: plums, blackcurrants, dark chocolate, tobacco, balsamic, and cigar box, layered with wild rose, dark cherry, cassis, mint, licorice, roasted coffee, and leather. On the palate, it is medium-to-full-bodied with a creamy, velvety texture, fine round tannins, flavors of black fruit, vanilla, cedar, and a hint of white chocolate, leading to a long, persistent finish of sweet spice and cedar.
