Each spring and fall, a new edition to the Old Fitzgerald Bottled-in-Bond series is released. Inspired by an original 1950's Old Fitzgerald diamond decanter, the packaging and series honor both the history of the Old Fitzgerald brand and the historic Bottled-in-Bond designation. The Old Fitzgerald line is well-known for its distilling pedigree, as the brand was first registered in 1884 and was eventually sold to "Pappy" Van Winkle during Prohibition. In 1999, Heaven Hill bought the brand and began distilling it at Bernheim Distillery in Louisville, KY. Today, in addition to our Old Fitzgerald Decanter Series.

For this edition, barrels were pulled from across three floors of rickhouse V at Heaven Hill Distillery’s main campus in Bardstown, Kentucky. The Bourbon was put into barrels in the fall of 2004 and bottled in the spring of 2022, making this the first 17-year-old bottle in the Old Fitzgerald series.

Taste: Smooth and rich with caramel and butterscotch. Dark chocolate and abundant spices, especially at the back of the tongue. Bright spearmint note at mid-palate.

Made in homage to one of bourbon's original aristocrats, W.L. Weller 12 Year Old Kentucky Straight Bourbon continues to be crafted using Weller's wheated bourbon recipe. Aged for a minimum of 12 years, far longer than most wheated bourbons. This whiskey features aromas of creamy vanilla, caramel and molasses that gives way to notes of candied corn, ripe fruits, cocoa powder and dried fruits on the palate. With a finish, which is elegant and soft, has hints of mint, fruit and vanilla this wheated bourbon is not to be overlooked. W.L. Weller 12 Year Old Bourbon earned the Double Gold Medal at the San Francisco World Spirits Competition 2019.

TASTING NOTES:

The 10-Year Rye, 10-Year Bourbon reflects the exceptional results of uncompromising craftsmanship and Kentucky’s unrivaled climate for aging outstanding whiskey. Often significantly older than the age statement on the label, only a select few barrels age with the elegance required for inclusion in these highly limited releases.

Each year as part of the Parker's Heritage Collection, we select a special whiskey to be released in the name of our late Master Distiller Parker Beam. The barrels selected for this series include Bourbon, Rye, and Wheat Whiskeys, among others, and are some of the finest and most diverse American Whiskeys ever produced. They are a fitting tribute to the expertise of Parker Beam.

The 17^th edition of the Parker’s Heritage Collection consists of 10-year-old Kentucky Straight Rye Whiskey pulled from 142 barrels. For this release, we used our traditional rye mashbill of 51% rye, 35% corn and 14% malted barley. It was barreled in August, October or December of 2012 and aged on the first floor of Rickhouse H1 and H2, the fifth floor of Rickhouse FF, the third and seventh floors of Rickhouse BB, and the second floor of Rickhouse DD.

At bottling, the liquid was non-chill filtered. This is only the second Rye in the collection and is the longest-aged Rye Whiskey in the Heaven Hill Distillery portfolio, making this a truly special edition.

Parker’s Heritage Collection Double Barreled Blend consists of 67% 13-year-old bourbon, aged on the 5th, 6th, and 7th floors of Rickhouse Q. The bourbon then underwent a secondary maturation in newly charred level #3 barrels for an additional month. 

The bourbon was then blended with 33% 15-year-old bourbon from the 2nd and 5th floors of Rickhouse II. The age of the blended bourbon definitely brings back memories of Promise of Hope and the 11 Year Single Barrel - with its flavor profile not too far off from them either.

The story of Basil Hayden's begins in 1796, when Basil Hayden Sr. — a Maryland-born distiller who learned his craft from rye whiskey traditions — led a group of Catholic families from Maryland to Nelson County, Kentucky. Michter’s U.S. 1 Unblended American Whiskey is one of the most distinctive and misunderstood bottles in American whiskey — and one of the most rewarding. Unlike Bourbon, which by law must be aged in new, charred American oak, Michter’s Unblended American is aged in used, whiskey-soaked barrels, producing a spirit that sits in its own category: richer, more spirit-forward, and free from the constraints of any legal definition. Our small batch Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whiskeys are offered as a Small Batch, up to 12 barrels per batch, which was the result of one fermenter. The goal of the Small Batch is to capture the total essence of more complex notes from multiple barrels from distillate of the same fermenter. Weve decided to release the Small Batch Bourbon as a Bottled in Bond so fans of our Wheated Single Barrel Bourbon can do a side-by-side comparison.

Our Small Batch release mash bill is 64 percent corn, 24 percent rye and 12 percent malted barley using our yeast strains. We entered the cooper select, toasted and #4 char barrel at 110 proof after coming off the still around 137 proof. All of our whiskeys are aged and matured on our 168-acre campus inside any one of our six rickhouses. We have more than 100,000 barrels aging onsite.
