Deep red with purple tones in the beginning, changing to garnet red throughout its aging process. The bouquet brings out notes of berries, marmalade, violets, vanilla, fig and almonds, with slight smoky hues. Winemaker Notes

Pajé is a small 1.83-hectare (4.52-acre) strip of land facing southwest, particularly rich in calcareous marl with a high content of active limestone. The amphitheater of Pajé opens onto the Tanaro river valley, which mitigates cold winters and hot summers, creating a unique microclimate. The vines range from 25 to 50 years of age (averaging over 40), and all new plantings are propagated using the massale selection method — clippings pruned exclusively from the Pajé vineyard itself.

The Roagna Barbaresco Pajé 2020 is a legendary release from one of the most artisanal and traditionalist producers in the Langhe. Luca Roagna is known for "monastic" patience, often aging his wines for five years or more before they leave the cellar.

Monica Larner writes;  The 2018 Maremma Toscana Ornello is a blend of Sangioveto (Sangiovese), Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon and Syrah from the design winery of Rocca di Frassinello on the Tuscan Coast. This wine pays homage to the "butteri," or cowboys, that roam this remote and hilly terrain with their sturdy horses and leather hats. This wine shows a dark and meaty character, no doubt added by the Syrah, with some burnt ember and exotic spice. The bouquet is infused with dark fruit, dried plum and blackberry preserves. ROCCAFIORE FIORFIORE GRECHETTO DI TODI 2023 | 750ML

Straw yellow with golden reflections. The nose is generous and expressive — pineapple, golden apple, yellow flowers, and delicate hints of white spice. On the palate it is enveloping, fresh, and sapid, with good minerality and a sleek texture that speaks to both the single-vineyard terroir and the 12 months of amphora aging. A wine of great elegance and complexity, with a drinking window that extends 3–4 years from harvest.

Fiorfiore is produced from a single vineyard of Grechetto di Todi (clone G5) planted in 1990, trained Guyot on whitish clay soils rich in marl, limestone, and chalk. Fermentation is spontaneous with indigenous yeasts; the wine is then aged 12 months in amphora and large Slavonian oak casks on fine lees, with no malolactic fermentation, followed by a minimum of 6 months in bottle before release.

Cantina Roccafiore was established by the Baccarelli family in 1999 on 15 hectares of rolling hills near Todi — the green heart of Umbria. About the Producer

The Ronchi di Cialla winery sits within its own valley like something out of a fairy tale — roads curving through rows of vines planted between outcroppings of forest, with the family home and cellar perched at the top of a hill overlooking vineyards in all directions. Ivan Rapuzzi runs the winery with his mother and brother, following the same traditional methods as their father before them.

Syrah has a long history of cultivation on the island of Sicily with first records mentioning it in 1868. After decades of evolving and adapting to the region’s unique terroir, the Sallier de La Tour family became convinced of the varietal’s potential to thrive in the Monreale area where the soils are rich in potassium and the natural springs found under the vineyards allow the grapes to retain freshness.
