The Millet family founded Domaine La Gemière in 1981 on the slopes of the Loire Valley, and since 2000 siblings Sébastien and Nicolas have carried the tradition forward with a profound respect for their 19-hectare estate. The “La Pointe” parcel sits on Ménetou-Salon’s famous Kimmeridgian limestone soils — the same ancient seabed geology that defines great Sancerre, just a few kilometers to the east. Ménetou-Salon is one of the Loire’s best-kept secrets: a small appellation producing Sauvignon Blanc of genuine mineral character and Sancerre-level quality at a fraction of the price. Grapes are pressed immediately after harvest, with juice flowing by gravity into tank, racked 48 hours later, and aged on lees for 8–9 months for added texture and complexity.

Founded in 1891, the Brand winery has been producing wine in the Pfalz for five generations. Their vineyards are located on limestone-rich soils around the village of Bockenheim, in the northern part of the region, along the border of the Rheinhessen. Daniel and Jonas' father, Jürgen, always farmed their vines responsibly, but when his children took over, they immediately transitioned to organic viticulture, gaining certification in 2017. The Brothers Brand also utilize biodynamic treatments, always experimenting to discover which practices work best in their vines. All of their wines are made with little, if any, added sulfites. 

Wonderfully aromatic with lively fruit and minerality and a lovely zest and charge on the palate, perfectly balanced by the residual sugar. The Feinherb Riesling has a slight sweetness on the attack, though the sugar melds perfectly into the body, finishing dry and crisp. No fining or filtration and minimal use of sulfur.

Jonathan Cristaldi of Decanter Magazine writes 93 Points | This wine impresses with its richness, creamy vanilla, and buttery brioche notes on the nose—never over the top—building into a fleshy, layered palate balanced by excellent acidity, with a pH of around 3.4 and 6.2 TA. Candied ginger peel, rich citrus, and tangerine peel lead into baked pineapple notes on a very long, saline-mineral finish—a true crowd-pleaser, perfect with roast chicken and potatoes or roast pork. The fruit for this Chardonnay comes from Napa and Sonoma Carneros. Barrel-fermented and aged for nine months in a mix of American and French oak, one-third of which is new. Drink this outstanding, classy white over the coming 2-3 years. I never cease to be amazed at the quality of the Côtes du Rhône white from this team, especially given the quantities produced.

Considering this was only bottled three weeks before tasting, I’m very encouraged by the results.

There's beautiful range and just enough plumpness to make this generous, yet it's held in check by a chalky mineral element and very fine tannins. Decanter 96 Points (Clive Pursehouse) | "Quite the Chardonnay from Brianne Day and the renowned Eola Springs Vineyard in the best Chardonnay appellation in America." Three different blocks and three different clones: Hyde Wente, Mount Eden, and Dijon 96. Captivating lemon curd aromas and rich, honeyed apricots followed by almond pastry cream — dollops of rich lemon cream, ripe peach fuzz, and rich apricot flesh.

Winemaker Notes

Brianne Day chose three blocks and three clones from the gorgeous Eola Springs Vineyard in the Eola-Amity Hills to get to know the site intimately. Hyde Wente and Mount Eden (California heritage clones) were picked earlier for structure and acid; Dijon 96 was picked later for stone fruit and riper character.

The result is lively, lithe, and built on a solid mineral structure with a supple, glossy mid-palate. Lemon curd, peaches, river stones, lime zest, sweet orange, honeysuckle, and a hint of pastry all come to mind.

I’m thrilled to kick off 2025 by introducing my latest project: 67 Wine Somm Series Petit Moscato 2024.Once again, I’ve drawn inspiration from the vibrant and dynamic wine culture of NYC! The label design aligns seamlessly with the rest of our 67 Wine Petit Somm Series, maintaining a consistent and stylish aesthetic. Moscato is one of the most popular wine categories in New York, and my goal was to craft a wine that pairs an elegant label with authentic, high-quality juice.

Tasting Notes:

The wine presents a pale lemon-yellow hue with bright highlights. On the nose, it is intensely aromatic, as Muscat Blanc à Petits Grains is renowned for its fragrant character. The palate is lively, offering sweet, fresh fruit flavors of orange, honeydew melon, and peach. A subtle sweetness transitions beautifully into a finish accented with delicate notes of white blossom flowers.

In my view, this Moscato pairs perfectly with spicy Szechuan cuisine, Japanese and Indian dishes, tapas-style appetizers, blue cheeses, and chicken liver pâté.

Wölffer Estate is the Hamptons’ most iconic winery — and their Gold Label Rosé is the wine that put Long Island rosé on the map. Crafted from the estate’s maritime terroir on the East End of Long Island, where cooling sea breezes off the Atlantic preserve freshness and lift, this is a rosé of genuine complexity, understated elegance, and outstanding value.
