Taittinger Champagne Prestige Rose Brut NV 750ml
About This Wine
Taittinger Cuvée Prestige Rosé is one of Champagne's most iconic non-vintage rosés — a house that has championed elegance and finesse since 1734. Blended from Pinot Noir, Pinot Meunier, and 30% Chardonnay, with 12–15% still red Pinot Noir wine added for color and depth, this cuvée pours a vivid cherry-pink with an endless stream of fine, persistent bubbles.
The nose is classically Pinot — ripe red raspberries, wild strawberries, and blood orange, lifted by delicate floral and earthy nuances. On the palate, it is full-bodied yet refined, with vibrant berry fruit, a silky mousse, and a fresh acidity that carries through to a long, crisp finish. Versatile and celebratory in equal measure.

Malolactic fermentation is carried out in full after the alcoholic fermentation. The wine is aged in a combination of stainless steel and cement for five months before a brief bottle aging.

Paitin di Pasquaro Elia Barbaresco Riserva Sori' Paitin Vecchie Vigne 2006 750ml
Expert Rating
Vinous Stephen Tanzer writes 93 Points | (from 63-year-old vines in the center of the vineyard; aged in a combination of old barriques and new larger casks) Sweet aromas of redcurrant, cherry, smoke and mint, all lifted by high notes of orange peel, rose petal and minerals. Concentrated, vibrant and gripping, with a silky quality and noteworthy precision to the flavors of red fruits, spices and minerals. Harmonious acidity gives a juicy, sappy quality and real elegance to this densely packed Barbaresco. Here the tannins are considerably finer than those of the normale, and the long, juicy, gripping finish leaves behind a captivating floral perfume. A beauty.
This is from a massale selection, including a bit of the lighter, floral rose clone of nebbiolo while the rest of the vineyard features five different clones.
Ca' del Bosco Cuvée Prestige 48th Edition Brut Franciacorta NV 750ml
Ca' del Bosco | Cuvée Prestige 48th Edition | Brut | Franciacorta DOCG | NV
Franciacorta is Italy’s most serious answer to Champagne — made by the traditional method, from the same grapes (Chardonnay, Pinot Nero, Pinot Bianco), with the same extended lees aging, and with the same ambition for complexity and finesse. Ca’ del Bosco is the house that built the category’s reputation. Founded in the 1960s in Lombardy’s lake district, it remains the benchmark producer — meticulous in the vineyard, exacting in the cellar, and consistent across every edition of its flagship Cuvée Prestige. The 48th Edition spends a minimum of 24 months on the lees, building the fine, persistent mousse and the toasted brioche character that define the house style. The result is a wine of genuine elegance: ripe peach and apple on the nose, layered with buttery brioche, butterscotch, and a subtle mineral thread. The palate is rich yet precise, with a creamy texture and a long, clean finish. Exceptional as an aperitif, and equally at home alongside a celebratory meal.
- Appellation: Franciacorta DOCG, Lombardy, Italy
- Blend: Chardonnay, Pinot Nero, Pinot Bianco
- Method: Traditional method (Metodo Classico)
- Lees Aging: Minimum 24 months

La Ganghija Barbaresco 2018 750ml
A Classic Barbaresco from the Heart of Treiso
La Ganghija crafts traditional Barbaresco from the prized Treiso subzone of Piedmont, and their 2018 Barbaresco is a compelling expression of Nebbiolo at its most authentic — wild, complex, and built for the cellar. The 2018 vintage delivered exceptional ripeness across Piedmont, and this wine shows it: structured, aromatic, and layered with the kind of rustic elegance that defines great Barbaresco.
Expert Reviews - Vintage 2018
- Wine Enthusiast — 92 pts: “Penetrating aromas of warmed cherries soaked with cinnamon, clove and anise that develop into dried rose petals, forest floor. The palate has a core of savory spice wrapped around drying wild red berries and Alpine herbs framed by well-placed tannins and electric acidity. A wine worthy of the cellar. Drink now–2040.”
- Vinous — 92 pts: “A bold, pungent Treiso Barbaresco. Wild cherry, spice, leather, tobacco and menthol are front and center in this wild, pleasantly rustic Barbaresco. There is certainly plenty of character here.”
Buyer’s Notes
Bart Hopkins, 67Wine Buyer
Good varietal expression in this 2018 Barbaresco, with delicate aromas of spiced plums, rose petals, violets, strawberry blossoms, cinnamon, nutmeg and saddle leather. Medium bodied in the mouth with savory complexity and supple tannins that carry through the finish.

Paitin Barbaresco Riserva Sori Paitin Vecchie Vigne 2020 750ml (Pre-Sale ETA June 2026)
The 2020 Barbaresco Riserva Paitin Barbaresco Riserva Sori Paitin VV 2020 is a touch more generous than the 2021 tasted alongside it. Even so, it retains plenty of rigor and vibrancy. Expressive spice notes meld into a core of bright red-toned fruit. This mid-weight Riserva needs a few more years in bottle to be at its very best.

Roagna Barbaresco Paje 2020 750ml
Expert Reviews — Vintage 2020
James Suckling 97 Points | An elegant and stylish wine with fresh violets, roses, wild strawberries, earthy minerals and hints of Sichuan pepper and licorice on the nose. Full-bodied, firm, tense and fresh with a dusty texture, yet tight and well packed. Austere finish.
Wine Spectator 95 Points | A high-toned aroma of rose petal meets earth and savory underbrush notes in this multifaceted red. Flavors of strawberry and cherry hold the middle ground, while bracing acidity and sinewy tannins lend support. Long and elegant, with a lasting aftertaste of ripe cherry.
Winemaker Notes
Pajé is a small 1.83-hectare (4.52-acre) strip of land facing southwest, particularly rich in calcareous marl with a high content of active limestone. The amphitheater of Pajé opens onto the Tanaro river valley, which mitigates cold winters and hot summers, creating a unique microclimate. The vines range from 25 to 50 years of age (averaging over 40), and all new plantings are propagated using the massale selection method — clippings pruned exclusively from the Pajé vineyard itself.
About Roagna
The Roagna Barbaresco Pajé 2020 is a legendary release from one of the most artisanal and traditionalist producers in the Langhe. Luca Roagna is known for "monastic" patience, often aging his wines for five years or more before they leave the cellar.
The 2020 vintage is characterized by a "velvet glove" elegance — more approachable in its youth than the structured 2019s, showing silkier tannins while maintaining the estate's signature power and depth.
Tasting & Pairings
Expect classic Nebbiolo aromatics — dried rose, tar, red cherry, and earthy spice — wrapped in silky, fine-grained tannins with remarkable length. This is a wine built for contemplation but generous enough to enjoy now with proper decanting.
- Braised short ribs or osso buco — the tannin structure and acidity cut through rich, slow-cooked meats.
- Truffle risotto or tajarin pasta — a classic Piedmontese pairing that lets the wine shine.
- Aged Parmigiano-Reggiano or Castelmagno — hard, nutty cheeses complement Nebbiolo’s complexity.
Argyle Vintage Brut 2022 Willamette Valley Sparkling Wine 750ml
Argyle Winery | Vintage Brut | Willamette Valley | 2022
Oregon is not the first place most people think of for serious sparkling wine — but it should be. Argyle has been making the case since 1987, and the Willamette Valley’s cool, maritime-influenced climate turns out to be near-ideal for the traditional method: long growing seasons, natural acidity, and Pinot Noir and Chardonnay that ripen slowly and retain the tension that great sparkling wine demands. The 2022 Vintage Brut draws heavily on fruit from the legendary Knudsen Vineyard, one of the oldest and most respected sites in the valley, which contributes natural weight, brightness, and a distinctive character that sets this wine apart from its non-vintage counterparts. Golden apple and Anjou pear lead the nose, layered with vanilla and toasted cake crust — opulent without being heavy. On the palate, apple, cherry blossom, and spiced cinnamon flavors linger at length, carried by a foamy mousse and vivid acidity. A classic modern vintage from one of America’s most important sparkling wine producers.
- Appellation: Willamette Valley, Oregon
- Blend: Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, Pinot Meunier
- Method: Traditional method (Méthode Classique)
- Key Vineyard: Knudsen Vineyard
- Dosage: Brut
- Vintage: 2022
- Format: 750ml
- Farming: Sustainable
Critical Acclaim — Vintage 2022
Wine Spectator | 90 Points: Appealing for its easygoing flavors of apple, cherry blossoms and spiced cinnamon that linger at length.
Pairing Suggestions
- Celebration: A versatile aperitif for any occasion that calls for bubbles.
- Seafood: Oysters, Dungeness crab, grilled salmon, or smoked fish.

Underwood Rose 355ml CAN
Underwood Rosé — Oregon 355ml Can
Underwood is the wine that made canned wine cool — and their Rosé is the one that started it all. Made by Union Wine Company in Oregon, Underwood draws from the diverse palette of vineyards and wine-growing regions the state has to offer, blending them into something fresh, fun, and genuinely delicious. The winemaker calls it the perfect wine for “action-lounging” — and honestly, that’s exactly right.
The blend is three-quarters Pinot Gris for body and freshness, with a dose of Muscat for floral pop and a dash of Pinot Noir for color. Fruit is harvested on the riper end of the spectrum, destemmed with a range of skin contact times depending on the source, then slowly cold-fermented at 50–55°F for a month or more. Fermentation is halted at an average of 4.5 g/L residual sugar, leaving the wine lively, juicy, and just off-dry. Fresh strawberry, ruby grapefruit, and apricot on the nose and palate, with a crisp, clean finish.
- Producer: Union Wine Company, Oregon
- Style: Rosé
- Blend: ~75% Pinot Gris, Muscat, Pinot Noir
- Residual Sugar: ~4.5 g/L (off-dry)
- Fermentation: Cold-fermented at 50–55°F
- Format: 355ml Can
- Tasting Notes: Strawberry, ruby grapefruit, apricot, floral, crisp finish
- Best Enjoyed: Chilled straight from the can — picnics, hiking, rooftops, beach days, backyard hangs
No corkscrew. No glass. No problem — Underwood Rosé goes wherever the good times do.
Domaine Jean Grivot Clos de Vougeot Grand Cru 2020 1.5 Liter MAGNUM
Expert Reviews - Vintage 2020
Burghound 93 Points | A brooding and densely fruited nose grudgingly reveals its array of dark berries, poached plum, warm earth and a soupçon of wood. The supple but mouth coating and velvet-textured larger scaled flavors that coat the palate with sappy dry extract while delivering excellent persistence on the youthfully austere, powerful and balanced finale. This excellent effort is very firm and should age accordingly; indeed two decades is not out of the question.
Decanter 94 Points | Flamboyantly fruity and very approachable, the wine has an expressive cherry and rose petal fruit, with a hint of exotic spice. The texture is powerful, yet fresh enough to retain a compelling vivacity. Grivot owns a large parcel of 1.86ha in Quatorze Journaux along the bottom of the Route Nationale. The quality of the wine belies the received wisdom about this location. The grapes are destemmed and gently fermented, with the must lightly pumped over after a few initial punch-downs before ageing. (CC)
Vinous 92 Points | The 2020 Clos de Vougeot Grand Cru came across a little backward and surly on the nose compared the the Vosne-Romanées despite coaxing. The palate is medium-bodied with sappy red fruit, fine definition, taut and fresh with a well-defined finish. Here, I actually find more in the mouth than on the nose, at least at the moment. Hopefully the aromatics will kick on during élevage. (NM)
Paitin Barbaresco Riserva Sori Paitin Vecchie Vigne 2021 (Pre-Sale - ETA September 2026)
The 2021 Barbaresco Riserva Vecchie Vigne is just as impressive as it was last year. Hard candy, rose petals, mint, crushed red berry fruit and a kick of orange peel infuse the 2021 with tons of intrigue. On the palate, the 2021 is a bit stern. Even so, it possesses notable textural richness and tons of persistence.
Vinous 96 Points
Gaja Barbaresco 2021 750ml
Points Jeb Dunnuck | AA brightly jeweled ruby hue, the 2021 Barbaresco is super-expressive, with loads of wild raspberries that leap from the glass along with notes of strawberries, pressed roses, fresh orange, and violet. As it opens, it evens picks up some spice box, cigar incense, and cherry notes. Crystalline in nature and ripe, this next-level red delivers ripe, sweet tannins, great tension, and fresh, vibrant acidity, without any austerity. A luxury racecar, it’s fantastic and possibly the wine of the year. Drink 2025-2055.
Robert Parker | This was an epic vintage, and the entire Gaja family is ready to sing its praises. The 2021 Barbaresco sets the tone with sweet cherry flavors framed by spice, earthy notes and elegantly sweet tannins. Giovanni Gaja says the 2021 growing season had two phases: the first six months of the year saw rain and cool temperatures with some frost and soggy conditions until May; however, from June forward, the season saw sunny days without excessive heat spikes. In line with the character of the vintage, this wine shows succulent fruit that is balanced and not too ripe. There is depth and volume here.
Wine Enthusiast | Blended across 14 vineyards, this wine shows the class, beauty and vitality of the noble Nebbiolo grown in the soils of Barbaresco. The wine opens with aromas of ripe cherries, warmed strawberries in sweet spices, fresh herbs and mixed flowers. The palate is lifted and vibrant with a verve that electrifies the palate as flavors of boysenberry, dried blood orange and black tea saunter about alongside well-intergrated tannins, making this wine drinkable now but ready for the cellar. (2020).
| A pretty red, elegant and expressive, offering strawberry, cherry, rose and mineral flavors. Refined tannins and vibrant acidity provide the right amount of support, giving an overall sense of harmony. This firms up nicely, turning more austere, with red fruit and savory notes on the long aftertaste.
| The aromas of licorice, minerals, light tar and dark berries such as raspberry are so attractive. It’s medium-bodied with a tight and integrated palate of fine tannins that are seamless and unseen. It’s long and lively.
| A pure embodiment of Nebbiolo’s elegance, this opens with enticing aromas of ripe red berries, violet petals and earthy undertones. The palate leaps forward with flavors of juicy cherries, plums and a touch of spice. A chalky minerality sits at the core, with fine-grained tannins that create a structure that’s perfectly balanced. Each part of the wine is precise and effortlessly flows into the next.

Domaine Hoffmann-Jayer Bourgogne Hautes-Côtes de Nuits 2020 750ml
Domaine Hoffmann-Jayer Bourgogne Hautes-Côtes de Nuits — Burgundy 2020
Domaine Hoffmann-Jayer is one of Burgundy’s most compelling small estates, and their Hautes-Côtes de Nuits is a masterclass in what old vines and meticulous winemaking can achieve at a village level. Sourced from one hectare of 60-year-old Pinot Noir planted in the lieux-dits En Foigery and Les Castaings in Magny-lès-Villers, the 2020 vintage is vinified with a pre-fermentation cold soak and spontaneous fermentation in cement tank, then aged 18 months in a combination of two-thirds 228-liter barrels (20% new oak) and one-third terracotta jar — a rare and thoughtful approach that preserves freshness and amplifies terroir. Bottled without filtration for maximum purity and expression.
The nose is spicier and slightly more deeply pitched than expected for the appellation: plum, black cherry, and subtle earth. On the palate, bigger and richer medium-weight flavors are framed by fine tension and lip-smacking minerality — fresh but serious, with clean, elegant tannins and an impressively long finish. Allen Meadows of Burghound calls it simply: “One to buy.”
Allen Meadows, Burghound — “A spicier and slightly more deeply pitched nose of plum, black cherry and subtle earth gives way to bigger and richer medium-weight flavors that also possess fine tension on the impressively long finish. One to buy.”

Sixty-year-old vines, terracotta aging, and zero filtration — Hoffmann-Jayer’s Hautes-Côtes de Nuits is village Burgundy at its most honest and compelling.
Domaine Lignier Michelot Nuits Saint Georges 1er Cru Aux Murgers 2021 750ml
Expert Reviews - Vintage 2021
Jasper Morris MW of Inside Burgundy writes 91-94 Points | 90% whole bunch vinification. Mid purple, with a nose which shows the whole bunch a lot by giving some crushed strawberry on top of the darker fruit of Nuits-St-Georges. The latter appears further back on the palate but the tannins remain refined. Good length. Drink from 2028-2034.
Allen Meadows of Burghound writes 90-93 Points | Here the unreadable nose is marked by firm reduction. More interesting are the beautifully textured, rich and vibrant medium-bodied flavors that possess an abundance of sappy dry extract on the lingering finish that isn't quite as complex but is very well-balanced. (Drink starting 2031).
Domaine Bitouzet Prieur Bourgogne Rouge 2024 750ml
Domaine Bitouzet-Prieur Bourgogne Rouge — Burgundy 2024
Domaine Bitouzet-Prieur is one of Volnay's most respected family estates, and their Bourgogne Rouge is one of the great overachievers in all of Burgundy. Sourced from a single hectare of Pinot Noir planted between 1963 and 1970 in the lieu-dit Petit Près — situated just below the village-level Volnay vineyard Les Pasquiers, near the Meursault border — the wine is aged entirely in used barrels for 12 months to preserve the purity and transparency of the fruit. Allen Meadows of Burghound awarded it an Outstanding Top Value designation, calling it "a lovely Bourgogne."
The nose is cool, fresh, and finely etched: small red berries, cherry, red currant, spice, and a whisper of earth. On the palate, it is medium-bodied with succulent, delicious fruit, ample minerality, and a notable sense of refinement for its appellation level. The finish is persistent and ever-so-slightly rustic in the best Burgundian sense — and the wine has the structure to reward 2–3 years of cellaring.
Allen Meadows (Burghound) — Outstanding Top Value! — "A lovely Bourgogne worth considering."
Expert Reviews – Vintage 2024
Allen Meadows – Burghound | Outstanding Top Value | The slightly more elegant nose of mostly red berries and spice is cool and fresh. There is a bit more volume to the delicious and succulent middleweight flavors that conclude in an ever-so-mildly rustic finish that offers better depth and persistence. This is a lovely Bourgogne and worth considering — plus it has the stuffing to repay 2 to 3 years of keeping.
- Producer: Domaine Bitouzet-Prieur, Volnay, Côte de Beaune, Burgundy, France
- Vintage: 2024
- Appellation: Bourgogne Rouge AOC
- Vineyard: Lieu-dit Petit Près, below Volnay Les Pasquiers, near Meursault border
- Vines Planted: 1963–1970
- Varietal: 100% Pinot Noir

- Size: 750ml
- Tasting Notes: Red berries, cherry, red currant, spice, earth, minerality, persistent finish
- Cellar Potential: Drink now or cellar 2–3 years
- Best Paired With: Roast duck, chicken with mushrooms, charcuterie, Comté, pinot-friendly bistro fare
A Burghound Outstanding Top Value — Bitouzet-Prieur's Bourgogne Rouge punches well above its appellation with the soul of a village-level Volnay.
Kelley Fox Pinot Noir Weber Vineyard Dundee Hills 2023 750ml (ETA - Mid-May 2026)
96 Points by Jeb Dunnuck: A jeweled ruby Pinot opening with raspberry cordial, pressed flowers, and earthy umami tones. Medium-bodied with ripe tannins and a more approachable, fruit-forward style. Beautiful now, yet structured enough to evolve gracefully over 15–20 years. – Jeb Dunnuck
Winery Notes
This is my sixth Pinot produced from Weber Vineyard, a beautiful vineyard just down Worden Hill Road from Maresh Vineyard that I have prized for a very long time. The vines in this block were planted in 1983 on their own roots. Strong, old Oregon oak trees and towering big leaf maples guard the southern part of my block for this wine, while the eastern border of my block is a wild, mixed forest filled with unseen songbirds singing during the light hours.
The Weber 2023 is a rich medium red with blue undertones and has brilliant transparency. The nose has rich and intense red berry character with subtle powdery minerals. The mouth continues with beautifully ripe Oregon strawberry and cherry with cola and subtle spices. There’s lots of concentration and quiet power in this wine. I love its cool depth. The structure is detailed, and the finish is long and silky in the classic Dundee Hills way.
