Domaine du Salvard Cheverny Blanc 2025 750ml
Winemaker Description
While not untrue, calling Cheverny a value alternative to Sancerre would completely overlook the virtues unique to this appellation. It is a much zippier expression of Sauvignon Blanc compared to its famous neighbor, more citrusy than grassy. When Kermit introduced this wine in July 1993, he said, “Salvard makes the most drinkable, quaffable Sauvignon Blanc I have ever tasted.”
Thierry and Emmanuel Delaille of Domaine du Salvard specialize in crisp, mouthwatering Sauvignon Blanc, but for this cuvée, they add a splash of Chardonnay, which brings complexity, flesh, and notes of Meyer lemon and orchard fruit. The base of Sauvignon Blanc, meanwhile, provides freshness and liveliness as well as its characteristic flavors of passion fruit and lime zest. The two grape varieties combine for outstanding versatility, such that this bottle will serve you well alongside all kinds of seasonal spring fare.

Klein Constantia Sauvignon Blanc 2024 750ml 91 Points, Vinous
Klein Constantia Sauvignon Blanc — Constantia, South Africa 2024
Klein Constantia is one of South Africa's most historic and celebrated estates, situated in the Constantia Valley on the slopes of the Cape Peninsula — a site with a winemaking legacy stretching back to the 17th century and home to the legendary Vin de Constance. Their Sauvignon Blanc is a wine of genuine craft and ambition: sourced from 42 individual vineyard blocks across the estate, each fermented separately to allow the terroir of each parcel to express itself before careful blending. Grapes are harvested at 4am to preserve freshness, and the winemaking is a meticulous balance of wild and inoculated fermentation — 80% wild (some ferments taking up to two months to complete), 20% with Non-Saccharomyces Cerevisiae for complexity and natural microbial protection. Ten percent is aged in neutral 500L oak barrels, and the wine spends six months on gross lees before blending and bottling.
The 2024 pours light and bright. The nose is perfumed and atypically complex for Sauvignon Blanc — grapefruit, lime, kiwi, yellow plum, and hints of mango, with a citrus blossom and umami thread. On the palate, it's moreish and textured with a crisp entry, quince, light walnut, flinty mineral elements, and a fresh salinity that gives it real energy. The finish is long, vibrant, and expressive — fanning out beautifully with aeration. Real texture for the variety.
"Atypical for a Sauvignon Blanc — real texture to this Savvy, which is unusual for the variety, fanning out nicely on the finish." — Neal Martin, Vinous, 91 Points

Rioja Gran Reserva That Rivals Wines Twice the Price
Marques de Vargas is one of Rioja’s most respected estates, distinguished by its commitment to varietal correctness and minimal intervention. Only indigenous yeasts from the vineyard are used for fermentation — a philosophy that prioritizes terroir expression over the homogenizing effects of commercial yeast. Expert Reviews - Vintage 2022
The Wine Enthusiast by Michael Alberty writes 91 Points | For those of you who enjoy a stroll on the creamier side of Chardonnay life, here's a wine to champion. Tenuta Sette Cieli Yantra Toscana Rosso 2024 750ml
Tenuta Sette Cieli · Yantra · Toscana IGT · Italy · 2024
Tenuta Sette Cieli — “Estate of Seven Skies” — sits 1,300 feet above sea level in Bolgheri and Castagneto Carducci on the Tuscan coast, its terraced vineyards overlooking the Tyrrhenian Sea and the islands of Capraia and Gorgona. Everything is done by hand, with organic and sustainable farming, indigenous yeast fermentation, and single-variety vinification before final blending. Yantra — Sanskrit for “instrument” or “mandala” — is the estate’s entry into the Bolgheri tradition: a Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot blend aged six months in French oak, earning 89 points from Jeb Dunnuck and delivering exceptional value from one of Tuscany’s most beautifully situated estates.
The 2024 vintage was shaped by dramatic climatic contrasts — a rainy spring, a bone-dry summer, and exceptional September rains that demanded rigorous selection at harvest — yielding wines of striking freshness and aromatic intensity. The Yantra opens with wild blackberry, preserved cherry, brambly earth, spice, and fresh wildflowers. Medium to full-bodied on the palate, with refreshing acidity, crunchy berry fruit, and a touch of mocha on the finish. Lifted, approachable, and built for the near term.

Solena Estate Pinot Noir Grand Cuvee 2022 750ml
Expert Review - Vintage 2022
Eric Guido writes: Delicate and understated, the 2022 Pinot Noir Grande Cuvée opens with a peppery citrus tinge and dusty dried strawberries. It's round and softly textured with pure red berry fruits riding a wave of brisk acidity. An herbal tinge comes forward over time as gently grippy tannins tug at the cheeks and hints of licorice fade. Drinking 2025 to 2030. - Vinous 91
Audrey Frick writes: Medium ruby red-hued, the 2022 Pinot Noir Grande Cuvee is expressive and elegant on the nose, with notes of red cherries, candied cranberries, roses, fresh spice and herbs, and lifted piney herbs. Medium-bodied, it has a weightless, linear feel, with fine tannins, even acidity, and a clean, tapered finish with a light herbal note. It’s a very charming wine to drink over the next 5-6 years. Drinking 2024 to 2030. - Jeb Dunnuck 91

Senorio De Libano Rioja Castillo de Sajazarra Reserva 2019 750ml
Bodegas Señorío de Líbano Castillo de Sajazarra Rioja Reserva 2019 750ml The headquarters of this winery is nestled in the picturesque village of Sajazarra, a true gem of a town in La Rioja, Spain. This Reserva blends Tempranillo, Graciano, and Garnacha. Aged 24 months in French and American oak barrels and further aged for 12 months in the bottle. In my opinion, this Reserva drinks more like a Gran Reserva with a nose that opens up with a combination of secondary and tertiary aromas: leather, smoke, mushrooms, and perfectly matured red fruit. The oak adds to the mouthfeel, and its well-integrated tannins serve as proof of why Rioja Reservas are always ready to drink without hesitation. Grab this Reserva and serve with a grilled churrasco.

Fermented with indigenous yeasts, aged nine to twelve months in old 25-hectoliter foudres, and bottled with minimal intervention, it is one of the rare rosés with genuine structure and aging potential. Decanter awarded it 92 points. View From The Cellar 92. Organic. This is Tavel as it has always been — serious, complex, and built to last.

Domaine Le Galantin Bandol Rosé Organic — Provence 2025 750ml
Domaine Le Galantin is one of Bandol’s most authentic and quietly revered estates — a family domaine farming southwest-facing hillsides of clay and limestone in the heart of Provence’s most serious appellation. Producer Description
This wine expresses forest floor fruit. Blackberry, blueberry, and raspberry round out the velvet balanced structure and in her finesse. Cooper Mountain is a pioneering winery in Oregon's Willamette Valley, established on the outskirts of Portland in the late 1970's.
In 1978 Dr. Robert Gross and his wife Corrine planted Pinot Noir and Chardonnay on the slopes of Cooper Mountain, west of Portland. In 1987, the family converted an old horse barn on the property to start their own label, becoming early adopters to organic and Biodynamic farming practices in Oregon winemaking by the early 1990's.
"Our role as stewards of our 200 acres is a vital part of our process. Cooper Mountain has always been a trailblazer in sustainable growing, receiving organic certification from Oregon Tilth in 1995. Our commitment to these practices is an important part of our identity and that's why 100% of our wines are organically grown. We believe in Biodynamic farming practices. We've been farming that way since the early 90's and received our certification from Demeter in 1999. Every bottle of wine we make today is made from Biodynamic grapes."

Domaine Delobel Touraine Sauvignon Blanc Angle Droit 2024 750ml
Domaine Delobel Touraine Sauvignon Blanc “Angle Droit” — Loire Valley 2024
Domaine Delobel is one of the Loire Valley’s most exciting organic estates, founded in 2013 by Benjamin Delobel in Ouchamps, on the celebrated Oisly vineyard. Working with 10 hectares of certified-organic Sauvignon Blanc — planted from mass selections to preserve old-vine complexity — Benjamin crafts wines that are, as the name “Angle Droit” (Right Angle) suggests, straight, pure, and technically precise. For fans of Sauvignon Blanc who find New Zealand styles too loud and Sancerre too expensive, this wine hits the perfect middle ground. Manual harvests at dawn, slow pneumatic pressing, stainless steel fermentation, and aging on lees deliver a wine of exceptional freshness and mineral clarity.
The nose is lively and inviting: dried hay, field grass, sliced green apple, and crabapple aromas converge in a satisfying, savory frame. On the palate, the wine washes across wet river stone with tart acidity accented by white blossom — mineral-driven, focused, and refreshingly precise. The finish is clean and lingering.
Wine Enthusiast 90 — Reggie Solomon: “This lively wine refreshes the senses. The mineral-driven palate washes across wet river stone with tart acidity accented by white blossom.”
- Producer: Domaine Delobel, Ouchamps, Touraine, Loire Valley, France

Bodegas Beronia Rioja GRAN Reserva 2018 750ml
Beronia Wineries: Experience the Excellence of Rioja GRAN Reserva 2018
Our Professional Review
Oscar Garcia 67wino.shop | Beronia Gran Reserva is one of my favorite Gran Reservas. Every vintage seems to get better and better. The long-term aging Gran Reserva gives the wine time to develop a great arrange of flavors and nuances, not found in younger wines. Aromas of toasty oak, cassis, dark plum and cedar. Medium to full-bodied. Great length and integration. Serious but approachable.
Expert Reviews - Vintage 2018
James Suckling 92 Points | Attractive nose with a hint of walnut husk and dark earth to the black cherries and sweet tobacco. A hint of truffle and sous-bois, too. Medium-bodied on the palate with firm, dusty tannins that grow and extend in a long, succulent finish. Tempranillo, graciano and mazuelo.
The Wine Enthusiast 92 Points | Deep violet to the eye, this wine has a nose of black plum, dark chocolate and dried hillside herbs. Bold red berry flavors are joined by plush tannins and deeper notes of mocha, truffle and thyme. As flavors and textures wind down on the palate, a note of orange zest remains.
The Wine Spectator 90 Points | A classy red, fresh and fragrant, with notes of bay leaf, pepper and tar-tinged mineral accenting crushed cherry and blackberry fruit flavors. Shows good focus, with lightly chalky tannins in a medium-bodied frame. Tempranillo, Mazuelo and Graciano. Drink now through 2026. 50,000 cases made, 3,500 cases imported.
Memo Summary Notes
The Bodegas Beronia Rioja Gran Reserva 2018 represents the pinnacle of Beronia’s classic lineup. While the Mi Villa you looked at earlier is fresh and unoaked, this Gran Reserva is the complete opposite: a wine defined by patience, extensive aging, and complex secondary flavors.
A wine of this stature needs "heavy lifters" to match its intensity:
-
-
Game: Roasted duck or wild boar ragu.
-
Mature Cheeses: Aged Manchego, Roncal, or even a salty Blue cheese.
-
Umami Dishes: Anything involving truffles or wild forest mushrooms.
Red Meats: Slow-roasted lamb shanks, prime rib, or venison.
-

Dr Lippold Empress Josephine's Riesling Mosel 2022 750ml
Winemaker Description
The grapes for this delicious Riesling come from the prized area of Ürziger Würztgarten, in the middle Mosel above the village of Ürzig. Vinified and aged entirely in stainless steel vats, and intentionally released after a minimum of one year in the bottle, it displays classic Mosel mineral and lime notes throughout with bright, crisp acidity and just enough residual sugar to soften the edges.
Memo Summary Notes
The wine is a tribute to Napoleon’s wife, Empress Josephine, who famously fell in love with German Rieslings during her travels in the early 1800s. Her endorsement made Riesling the "fashionable" drink of the European elite. Dr. Enno Lippold crafts this specific cuvée to capture that historic, elegant style.
Because of residual sugar, this wine is the ultimate pairing for spicy food.
-
Thai Green Curry or Spicy Sushi Rolls (with spicy mayo/wasabi). The sugar calms the heat, while the acidity cleanses the palate.
-
Classic Roast Pork with Apples: The sweetness of the wine mirrors the fruit in the dish.
