From the “Someone’s Darling” vineyard, Bendigo Loop Road, Central Otago. Fleshy black plum, cherry, and sweet berries on the palate with hints of violet and savoury spice. Bright and structured with a long, elegant finish. Drink now or cellar for up to 10 years.

Wairau River is one of Marlborough's founding family estates, established in 1978 by the Rose family on the banks of the Wairau River — pronounced "why-row" — whose stratified river soils give the wines a distinct and unmistakable sense of place. Sourced from six family vineyards on the northern side of the Wairau Valley — Home Block, Riverlore, Rapaura, Longbend, The Angler, and Burnside — the 2025 is a refined, aromatic expression of everything that makes Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc a benchmark for the style worldwide. The nose is intense and lifted: ripe tropical fruits, guava, passionfruit, grapefruit, and citrus, with a pungent thread of fresh grass and snow pea. On the palate, it is refined and elegant with a finely textured mouthfeel, flavors of guava and stone fruit, and a big lift of bright acidity that carries through to a fresh, dry finish. The Wine Advocate 91 Points | The 2023 Sauvignon Blanc is mineral and fresh, with almost spritzy acidity on the palate. This is all about green fruit and soft leaf herbs, gentle persuasions of white pineapple and mint and a salty Margherita character that is really quite attractive.
