Expert Ratings
Matthew Luczy writes: Sourced from the limestone soils of Talinay Vineyard, the 2023 Cordillera Chardonnay is a lovely example of the transparent vibrancy possible in Chardonnay from the coastal sections of Limarí. Opening with a medley of orchard fruits, citrus and floral accents, the palate is clean and precise, with a touch of waxy breadth that provides additional staying power through the mouthwatering finish. - Robert Parker Wine Advocate 92

Miguel Torres Estelado Pais Brut Rose Traditional Method Valle del Maule 750ml
Miguel Torres Estelado País Brut Rosé — Traditional Method, Valle del Maule, Chile
Miguel Torres Chile is one of South America's most pioneering wine estates, and Estelado is their most historically significant project: a sparkling rosé made entirely from País — the ancient grape brought to Chile by Spanish missionaries in the 16th century and long dismissed as a workhorse variety. Torres recognized what others overlooked: that old-vine País, farmed in the granite and clay soils of the Valle del Maule, has the acidity, freshness, and character to make a genuinely compelling traditional-method sparkling wine. Estelado is the proof. It is a wine of heritage, purpose, and genuine originality — a Brut Rosé that stands apart from anything else in the sparkling world.
The color is a delicate pale rosé with fine, persistent bubbles that rise in an elegant stream. The nose is fresh and inviting: red berries, citrus fruit, wild strawberry, and a subtle floral lift — characteristic of the ancestral País varietal. On the palate, the wine is fresh, lively, and genuine — crisp acidity, a light, airy mousse, and a clean, fruit-forward finish that is as easy to drink as it is interesting to think about.
“Pale rosé color, with fine and persistent bubbles. Hints of red and citrus fruits dominate on the nose. On the palate, fresh, lively, and genuine, characteristic of the ancestral País varietal.” — Winemaker’s Notes

The name comes from terminology used to describe people in earlier times who lived life on their own terms and shaped the world around them by building a community, giving them a voice, a purpose, and a good stiff drink. The mission of the founders to is provide an alternative to sleek ad campaigns and high-priced “craft spirits.” The partners in the company focus on providing support to the bars and restaurants that pour their products.
Mitica - Taralli Classico
Mitica Taralli Classico — Puglia, Italy
Taralli are one of southern Italy’s most beloved snacks — small, ring-shaped crackers from Puglia, made with just a handful of honest ingredients: flour, extra virgin olive oil, white wine, and salt. The dough is shaped by hand, briefly boiled, then baked until golden and crisp — a traditional technique that gives taralli their distinctive snap and their satisfying, subtly savory flavor. Mitica, one of Italy’s most trusted importers of artisan regional foods, sources their Taralli Classico from a traditional Pugliese producer who has been making them the same way for generations. The result is a cracker that is simple, authentic, and deeply addictive.
Each tarallo is light and crisp with a clean olive oil richness, a subtle hint of white wine, and a satisfying crunch that pairs beautifully with cheese, charcuterie, or a glass of wine. Equally at home on a cheese board, alongside an aperitivo, or eaten straight from the bag.
- Producer: Mitica, sourced from Puglia, Italy
- Key Ingredients: Flour, extra virgin olive oil, white wine, salt
- Style: Classic Pugliese taralli — boiled then baked
- Best Served With: Aged cheeses, salumi, olives, hummus, or alongside a glass of Primitivo or Fiano

Mondot by Troplong Mondot Saint-Emilion 2021 750ml
Château Mondot Saint-Émilion Grand Cru 2021
Perched atop a singular hill overlooking the ancient village of Saint-Émilion, Château Mondot has stood as an understated beacon of exceptional terroir since its creation in 1700. The estate — the second wine of the legendary Château Troplong Mondot — occupies a position like no other in the appellation, its lofty elevation and unique soil profile setting it apart from its neighbors on the limestone plateau.
The secret lies beneath the surface: Mondot's hill is one of the only places in Saint-Émilion where ancient Agenais Molasse clays, formed during the region's geological creation, have survived erosion to great depths, overlying the astéries limestone so characteristic of the appellation. This rare clay-over-limestone profile is the defining signature of Mondot's wines — lending them structure, freshness, and a distinctive mineral tension that sets them apart.
The 2021 Mondot holds a special place in the estate's history: it is the last vintage produced exclusively from Merlot grown on Saint-Émilion's limestone plateau — a milestone worth cellaring. Bright and vibrant in character, the wine reflects the cool, precise nature of the 2021 vintage with crystalline energy and elegant restraint.
Deep ruby in the glass, the wine opens with floral wildflower and crushed flower aromas, followed by red cherry, blackberry, currant, orange peel, cola, mint, and white pepper, with a touch of toasted oak and blue fruit. The palate is refined and focused — not plush or heavy — with pure acidity, a gorgeous tannic structure, and a mouthwatering, saline finish with notes of liquorice and wet stone. Drink from 2027.
Wine Enthusiast — 93 pts

Winemaker's Notes
Rich, silky, and velvety with smooth tannins. Expressive fruity notes of cherry, strawberry, raspberry, and ripe tomato, layered with floral hints of rose petal and violet. A wine that delivers elegance and approachability in equal measure — a standout value from Piedmont's Monferrato appellation.

About the Wine
While Piedmont is celebrated for its bold Nebbiolo-based wines like Barolo, this Pinot Nero (Pinot Noir) from Monte Degli Angeli is a rare gem — offering Burgundian-inspired elegance at a remarkable price point. A high-quality, budget-friendly Italian red that punches well above its weight.
