Roederer Estate Brut NV Sparkling Anderson Valley California 750ml
Roederer Estate · Brut NV · Anderson Valley · California
Roederer Estate is the California outpost of Louis Roederer — the legendary Champagne house behind Cristal — and it has long been not only one of California’s biggest sparkling wine producers, but one of its very best. Planted in the cool, fog-influenced Anderson Valley of Mendocino County, the estate grows Chardonnay and Pinot Noir in terroir that produces wines of genuine freshness and elegance. The Brut NV is a blend of 60% Chardonnay and 40% Pinot Noir, aged two years on the lees, with a significant portion of oak-aged reserve wine adding richness and complexity. Dosage: 7.5 g/L. Rated 94 points by Decanter, 93 by Wine Spectator, and named #2 Wine Spectator Top Ten Value of 2024.
The Estate Brut opens with aromas of baked apple, pie crust, toasted cashews, almonds, and biscuit with flinty touches. On the palate, it is medium to full-bodied — rounded and creamy with bright lemony character, seashell minerality, and a long, mineral-driven finish. More herbal and textural than Champagne, with a good Champagne’s freshness and elegance. As the New York Times put it: “It doesn’t taste like Champagne. It’s more herbal, less mineral, but it’s got a good Champagne’s freshness and elegance.”

Gruet Brut Gold Label Sparkling New Mexico 750ml
Gruet Brut Gold Label — New Mexico, USA
The story of Gruet is one of the great surprises in American wine. In 1984, the Gruet family of Champagne, France — already celebrated producers in the heart of the world’s most famous sparkling wine region — planted vineyards at 4,300 feet elevation in the New Mexico desert. What they discovered was a high-altitude terroir of remarkable character: cool nights, intense sun, and volcanic soils that produce grapes of exceptional natural acidity and finesse. The Gold Label Brut is their flagship cuvée: a Pinot Noir and Chardonnay blend crafted in the traditional méthode champenoise, with fine persistent bubbles, elegant brioche notes, and a crisp, refreshing finish that rivals sparkling wines at twice the price. Decanter awarded it 90 points. At $16.99, it is one of the most exciting values in American sparkling wine.
The nose is elegant and inviting: meringue, hints of lavender, and a whisper of molten candle wax. On the palate, fresh-cut apple flesh, wild honey, and quince come forward with brisk, satisfying acidity and a clean, persistent finish. Fine bubbles carry the wine from start to finish with real Champagne-house precision.
Decanter 90 — "Meringue, hints of lavender with notes of molten candle wax on the nose. The palate brings out the fruitiness of fresh cut apple flesh, wild honey, and quince. Brisk and satisfying."

A Champagne family’s New Mexico masterpiece — Gruet’s Gold Label Brut is the benchmark for what American sparkling wine can be at this price.
Gruet Brut Rose Sparkling New Mexico 750ml
The Gruet story is one of American wine's great surprises. In 1984, the Gruet family — Champagne producers from Bethon, France — planted vines in the high desert of New Mexico, at elevations above 4,000 feet. The cool nights, intense sunshine, and volcanic soils of the Rio Grande Valley turned out to be ideal for méthode champenoise sparkling wine. Today, Gruet is widely regarded as one of America's finest sparkling wine producers, and a benchmark for value in the category.
The Gruet Brut Rosé Sparkling New Mexico 750ml is made from 100% Pinot Noir and aged 24 months en tirage — the same extended aging used in Champagne production. The result is a nearly garnet-pink rosé with real depth and complexity: a bright floral bouquet of strawberry, raspberry, and cherry on the nose, followed by a rich, fruity palate in a dry, brut style. Dense, fresh, and beautifully balanced.

Laetitia San Luis Obispo Coast California Brut Cuvée NV 750ml
Laetitia, too, has its roots in Champagne. It was established in 1982 as the American outpost of the Champagne producer Deutz, but was sold in 1997 to Jean-Claude Tardivat, who renamed it after his daughter, and then sold again last year to Eric Hickey, the winemaker, and his partners.
It now makes a full range of reds, whites and sparklers. Brut Cuvée is the entry level sparkling wine and it’s quite good — rich, creamy, toasty and apple fresh.

Schramsberg Vineyards Brut Rose North Coast Sparkling 2019 750ml
Expert Reviews - Vintage 2019
Vinous 92 Points Eric Guido | More savory than sweet and wonderfully complex, the 2019 Brut Rosé North Coast bursts from the glass with toasty notes of fresh baguette and almonds, giving way to crushed apples and gingery spice. This rushes the palate with an elegant bead of silken bubbles. It is creamy yet energetic, and mineral-tinged orchard fruits add further tension. The 2019 leaves the senses wonderfully refreshed through the long, crunchy finale, as white strawberry and spice cookie notes fade. The Brut Rosé is a pleasure bomb, yet it’s wonderfully balanced throughout. Drinking 2023 to 2027.
Wine Spectator 92 Points | A delicate, graceful rosé, with refined strawberry, fresh ginger and yeast roll tones that glide on the supple finish. Pinot Noir and Chardonnay. Drink now.
Roederer Estate Brut NV Sparkling Anderson Valley California Rose 750ml
Roederer Estate Brut Rosé NV Anderson Valley
When Louis Roederer — the Champagne house behind Cristal — established Roederer Estate in California's Anderson Valley in 1982, they chose the region for a reason: its cool, fog-driven climate, elevated acidity, and distinctive soils offered the conditions to make world-class sparkling wine with genuine Old World character. The Brut Rosé is the estate’s most expressive non-vintage bottling — a wine that consistently overdelivers at its price point and has earned a devoted following among sparkling wine lovers.
The multi-vintage blend is 56% Pinot Noir and 44% Chardonnay, with 10–15% oak-aged reserve wines from the estate’s cellars adding depth and complexity. Disgorged in May 2023 with a dosage of 8 g/L. The result is a wine of delightful precision: fully balanced between red fruit and acidity, with a rounded mid-palate, enduring finesse to the mousse, and the structure to age through 2035 and beyond.
Gorgeous salmon-pink in the glass, the wine opens with aromas of yeasty brioche, fresh raspberry, strawberry, white tea, and spiced orange zest. The palate is firm and focused, with dried raspberry, orange blossom, cranberry, dried rose petal, and mint, gliding into supple orange cream and white grapefruit on a dry, refreshing finish. Graceful, dynamic, and endlessly versatile.
Jeb Dunnuck — 94 pts
“Gorgeously pretty in a salmon hue… delightfully precise in nature, fully balanced between red fruit and acidity, with a rounded mid-palate and enduring finesse to the mousse. The acidity and structure are solidly impressive and should give the wine plenty of time to age through 2035, if not beyond.” — Virginie Boone
Wine Enthusiast — 93 pts

Roederer Estate Anderson Valley L'Ermitage 2019 Brut 750ml
Roederer Estate L’Ermitage Anderson Valley Brut 2019
When Louis Roederer — one of Champagne’s most prestigious houses — looked to California, they bypassed Napa and Sonoma entirely, heading north to the cool, fog-laced Anderson Valley in Mendocino County. The cooler climate, longer growing season, and distinctive soils of this remote appellation offered something rare: the conditions to make world-class sparkling wine with genuine terroir expression. Roederer Estate has been doing exactly that since 1982, and L’Ermitage is the pinnacle of their work — a tête de cuvée produced only in exceptional years, using the same philosophy that guides Cristal in Champagne.
The 2019 L’Ermitage marks a historic milestone: it is the first vintage of this wine to undergo malolactic fermentation, resulting in a rounder, more immediately expressive style with lower dosage (6 g/L) and an earlier drinking window than previous releases. The blend is 52% Chardonnay and 48% Pinot Noir, all estate-grown, with 3.9% Chardonnay reserve wine from 2016. Approximately 4.9% was fermented in oak cask with gentle bâtonnage for eight weeks. The wine rested on its lees for four years before disgorgement, followed by an additional seven months of cork aging prior to release.
Liquid gold in the glass, the wine opens with beguiling aromas of quince, fresh stone fruit, citrus blossoms, salt, herbs, and pine forest, with hints of river-rock minerality, sliced pear, and vanilla. The mousse is creamy and light, the palate textured and layered — baked red apple, blood orange zest, white grapefruit, brioche, clove, and sticky caramel — with a mouthwatering, chalky finish of extraordinary length. Drink now through 2035+.
Wine Enthusiast — 100 pts / Cellar Selection
“If sunshine could be bottled it would be this. Aromas of fresh succulent stone fruit, a hint of yeast, citrus blossoms and notes of quince on the nose. The mousse is creamy and light with baked red apples, blood orange zest, white grapefruit, sticky caramel and layered salinity with a mouthwatering finish. It will bring a smile to your lips.” — Tonya Pitts
James Suckling — 97 pts
“Pretty, delicate aromas of salt, herbs and pine forest. A compelling wine that really speaks of place, with fine bubbles that coat the palate before resolving in a finish of citrus oil and resinous herbs. Very fresh, layered, vibrant and medium- to full-bodied, with some wonderful chalkiness at the end.” — Courtney Humiston

Argyle Vintage Brut 2022 Willamette Valley Sparkling Wine 750ml
Argyle Winery | Vintage Brut | Willamette Valley | 2022
Oregon is not the first place most people think of for serious sparkling wine — but it should be. Argyle has been making the case since 1987, and the Willamette Valley’s cool, maritime-influenced climate turns out to be near-ideal for the traditional method: long growing seasons, natural acidity, and Pinot Noir and Chardonnay that ripen slowly and retain the tension that great sparkling wine demands. The 2022 Vintage Brut draws heavily on fruit from the legendary Knudsen Vineyard, one of the oldest and most respected sites in the valley, which contributes natural weight, brightness, and a distinctive character that sets this wine apart from its non-vintage counterparts. Golden apple and Anjou pear lead the nose, layered with vanilla and toasted cake crust — opulent without being heavy. On the palate, apple, cherry blossom, and spiced cinnamon flavors linger at length, carried by a foamy mousse and vivid acidity. A classic modern vintage from one of America’s most important sparkling wine producers.
