Cantina Kurtatsch Alto Adige Pinot Grigio DOC 2024 750ml
Expert Review - Vintage 2024
James Suckling
90/100 points
Pinot Grigio is one of the most cultivated grape varieties in Alto Adige and finds ideal conditions in Kurtatsch. Our Pinot Grigio Selection consists only of grapes from selected hillsides and steep slopes.
The large temperature differences between day and night in these vineyards is the magic that lends the wine its distinctive aroma of white pears, fresh flowers and citrus fruits. In the mouth, the wine is juicy and round. The creamy texture is complemented by fresh, animating acidity. This is mainly thanks to the higher-elevation Pinot grigio vines. An expressive wine with a mineral, salty finish.
Montenidoli Vernaccia di San Gimignano Tradizionale Organic 2024 750ml
Montenidoli Vernaccia di San Gimignano Tradizionale — Tuscany 2024
Montenidoli is not just a winery — it is a mountain, a philosophy, and one of the most singular estates in all of Tuscany. Perched above the medieval towers of San Gimignano, this certified organic estate has been farming its ancient Vernaccia vines with radical integrity for decades. The Tradizionale is their most expressive bottling: fermented in stainless steel and macerated on the skins for approximately 7 days, it is a Vernaccia of rare complexity and texture — light-medium bodied, energetic, and vibrant, with a beautiful, almost tactile presence on the palate. Fresh stone fruits, orange zest, and blanched almonds lead to a long, lingering finish that is pure and precise. This is Vernaccia as it was always meant to be.
The nose opens with delicate herbal lift, white peach, and almond blossom. On the palate, the skin contact adds a gentle grip and golden depth — citrus pith, apricot, fennel frond, and a whisper of saline minerality. The finish is clean, long, and refreshingly dry, with a classic bitter almond note that is the hallmark of great Vernaccia di San Gimignano.
Certified Organic • Skin-Contact Vernaccia • Estate-Grown, San Gimignano DOCG

Terlano Alto Adige DOC Pinot Bianco Tradition 2024 750ml
Cantina Terlano is one of Italy's most revered cooperative wineries, founded in 1893 in the village of Terlano in Alto Adige — a region widely regarded as producing the finest Pinot Bianco in the world. The winery's philosophy is built on patience: every wine is given all the time it needs to mature to perfection, whether years or even decades. This commitment to slow, unhurried winemaking is backed by a legendary archive of over 100,000 bottles spanning vintages from 1955 to the present, with some rarities dating to the winery's founding year. Terlano's white wines have repeatedly made headlines for their extraordinary longevity and complexity.
The Tradition Pinot Bianco is sourced from carefully selected vineyards in the Alto Adige, where high-altitude sites, mineral-rich soils, and old vines farmed with up to 700 hours of manual work per hectare per year create conditions of exceptional harmony. Low yields and rigorous selection of healthy, fully mature grapes ensure concentration and precision in every vintage.
Vinification is carried out entirely in stainless steel, with extended lees aging to develop texture, complexity, and the wine's signature mineral depth. The focus is on secondary and tertiary aromatic development rather than primary fruit — a hallmark of Terlano's distinctive, age-worthy style.
The 2024 Tradition opens with aromas of crushed yellow apple, jasmine, wildflowers, and ripe pear, with a light, inviting waxiness. On the palate, the wine is beautifully balanced — fleshy yet precise, with candied citrus, nectarine, warm bread, and a classic stony, saline finish. Lively acidity and a long, fresh close with a twang of sour lime complete a wine of real elegance and depth.
"The Alto Adige produces arguably the finest Pinot Bianco in the world, and this scintillating example is a perfect introduction to the local style… Balanced and with lovely acidity, it's quite fleshy but not fully open yet… Really good length, with that classic stony, salty finish."
— Decanter, 93 Points. (Vintage 2024).

Tenuta Di Fessina Erse Mt. Etna Bianco 2025 750ml
Tenuta di Fessina · Erse Etna Bianco · 2025
Named for Erse, the Greek goddess of morning dew, this Etna Bianco comes from Tenuta di Fessina on Sicily’s volcanic Mount Etna. Carricante is the grape at the heart of the wine, and the estate’s earlier listing describes Erse as a mineral-driven expression of its high-altitude setting. This bottle is listed as the 2025 vintage; tasting notes and scores below from the earlier listing belong to 2024, not this vintage.
For the 2025 bottle, try pairing Etna Bianco with grilled fish, seafood pasta or fresh cheeses. These are serving suggestions, not a tasting assessment of the new vintage.
Vintage Review · 2025 Rating
The nose gleams with aromas of lemon, lime, crushed sea shells and new sneakers. On the palate, mixed tart and sweet citrus elements are joined by Anjou pears and toasted almonds. A wine that is bright, light and refreshing, but still substantial.
Danielle Callegari · Wine Enthusiast · 92 points for 2025 vintage
The previous 2024 listing also cited James Suckling at 93 points and described the wine as “complex.”

Elvio Cogno Anas-Cetta Nascetta Piedmont Organic 2025 750ml
Elvio Cogno | Anas-Cëtta | Langhe Nascetta del Comune di Novello DOC | Piedmont, Italy | 2025 | Organic
Elvio Cogno is one of the Langhe's most respected and forward-thinking estates, based in Novello in the heart of the Barolo zone. Founded by the legendary Elvio Cogno and now led by his son-in-law Walter Fissore and daughter Nadia, the estate is celebrated for its commitment to indigenous Piedmontese grape varieties and its pioneering role in the revival of Nascetta — an ancient white grape that had nearly disappeared from the region entirely.
Nascetta is a rare, indigenous white variety native to the commune of Novello, where it has been cultivated for centuries. Nearly extinct by the late 20th century, Elvio Cogno was instrumental in its revival, and today the grape has its own dedicated DOC — Langhe Nascetta del Comune di Novello — a testament to the variety's unique character and the estate's advocacy. The Anas-Cëtta — the name is a playful phonetic rendering of "Nascetta" in Piedmontese dialect — is the benchmark expression of this extraordinary grape, farmed organically and vinified with minimal intervention to let the terroir speak.
The 2025 offers a vibrant, distinctive nose of yellow fruit, jasmine, citrus, ginger, and thyme, with complex notes of white flowers and mineral precision. On the palate, fresh and precise with a lovely waxy viscosity, rich texture, and a long, saline finish that balances energy and elegance. A structured, expressive white that reflects the unique Novello terroir and the variety's genuine aging potential.
Pair with white truffle dishes, risotto, grilled fish, seafood pasta, soft cheeses, and herb-driven cuisine.

Gulfi Carjcanti DOC Sicilia Carricante 2022 Organic 750ml
Gulfi Carjcanti DOC Sicilia Carricante 2022 Organic 750ml
Gulfi is one of Sicily's most respected family estates, based in Chiaramonte Gulfi in the Monti Iblei hills of Ragusa — a world away from the volcanic drama of Etna, yet equally compelling. The Carjcanti is made from 100% Carricante, an indigenous Sicilian grape variety traditionally associated with Etna, here grown at 420 meters altitude on limestone-clay soils using traditional alberello training with 9,000 vines per hectare. Certified organic, no irrigation, natural yeasts — this is winemaking with deep respect for the land.
Aged one year in 500L and 2,500L oak barrels followed by several months in bottle, the 2022 Carjcanti is a wine of real tension and complexity — mineral, savory, and built to age, yet already showing beautiful aromatic detail and a palate that rewards every sip.
"Sweet almond paste, young peaches, hints of flint and smoke waft up from this wine. Its soft texture soothes as a savory display of herbal-tinged orchard fruits and salty minerals wash across the palate. There’s a lovely cut of acidity as this finishes with youthful tension revealing hints of hazelnuts and inner florals."

Benanti Etna BIANCO 2025 750ml
Few wine regions on earth are as singular as Mount Etna. Perched on an active volcano on Sicily's northeastern flank, the vineyards here grow in ancient lava soils at elevations that would be extreme anywhere else in Italy. Benanti is the family that put Etna on the modern wine map — pioneers who recognized the potential of indigenous varieties like Carricante long before the rest of the world caught on. Their Etna Bianco is 100% Carricante, the white grape native to the volcano's eastern slopes, and it is a pure, unfiltered expression of place: bone-dry, lean, and electric, with a stony minerality and saline edge that no other terroir can replicate. Grapefruit, tart orchard fruit, and a whisper of white flowers on the nose; crisp, driving acidity on the palate; and a long, clean finish that lingers with volcanic energy. Serve well chilled and let the mountain do the talking.
- Appellation: Etna Bianco DOC, Sicily, Italy
- Varietal: 100% Carricante
- Vintage: 2024
- Format: 750ml
- Style: Bone-dry, high-acid, volcanic white

Benanti Etna Bianco DOC 2024

67 Wine Picks
"A thrill-seeking wine from the volcanic region of Mt. Etna. Benanti showcases 100% Carricante at its best — complexity on the nose with aromas of grapefruit, saline, and fresh acidity with lots of minerality. A pure varietal expression, full of life, vibrant, energetic, with a lingering finish." — Debra 67wino.shop

Feudi di San Gregorio Falanghina del Sannio 2024 750ml
Feudi di San Gregorio Falanghina del Sannio 2024 · Campania, Italy
Critical Acclaim - Vintage 2024
James Suckling, 91 Points — Aromas of apples, precise fresh fruit and flowers. Light- to medium-bodied, it shows freshness with some silkiness and savory length. Full flavored for a falanghina.
Wine Enthusiast, 91 Points — The nose energizes with aromas of lemon, lime, white flowers and crushed rocks. The palate contrasts with a leading note of bitter almond skin, which pushes the citrus towards an orange peel feel, but a drizzle of honey provides balance and sets up a finish of orange blossom honey that unifies and creates a round, filling mouthfeel.
Producer
Feudi di San Gregorio is today the emblematic brand of the enological renaissance of southern Italy and of a drinking culture aimed at rediscovering the identity of Mediterranean flavors. Since 1986, its mission has been to enhance the native grape varieties of southern Italy such as Aglianico, from which Taurasi is produced, Fiano di Avellino and Greco di Tufo, investing in the land and in the centuries-old tradition of Irpinia viticulture.
Climbing the hill towards Sorbo Serpico, you enter another world through a cube, among streams, the aromatic herb garden, the rose garden and the fruit trees. The greatest surprise awaits inside the winery, where production spaces and visual narratives of the soils and vineyards merge with works of design, architecture and contemporary art: a multifaceted cabinet de curiosités, and at the center of everything, the wines, offspring of millennia-old grape varieties and a living testament to the fusion of nature and human creativity.

Following approximately six hours of cold skin contact, the grapes undergo gentle pressing and natural clarification. Fermentation takes place in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks at approximately 18°C (64°F), followed by several months of maturation on fine lees to develop texture, complexity, and harmony.
