Joseph Faiveley Bourgogne Blanc 2023 750ml
Domaine Faiveley · Bourgogne Blanc · Burgundy · France · 2023 · 750ml
The Faiveley family has been rooted in Burgundy for nearly two centuries — seven generations of winemakers whose values have remained unchanged: a deep attachment to the region, an instinctive passion for terroir, and an innate respect for the land and the people who work it. Today, Domaine Faiveley is one of the largest estate owners in Burgundy, with holdings spanning the Côte de Nuits to the Côte Chalonnaise, producing some of the appellation’s most polished and collectible whites and reds. The Bourgogne Blanc is crafted from a blend of estate-grown Chardonnay and carefully selected fruit from trusted organic growers, matured for 8 to 10 months in the domaine’s cellars in Nuits-Saint-Georges, with a portion aged in oak barrels depending on the vintage. At $39.99, this is classic white Burgundy from one of the region’s most respected houses — exceptional quality for the appellation.
Brilliant pale greenish-yellow in the glass with an expressive, inviting nose of white flowers, ripe citrus, and a subtle mineral thread. La Vieille Ferme Blanc 3.0L Box Wine
La Vieille Ferme · Blanc · Ventoux · Rhône Valley, France · 3.0L Box Wine
La Vieille Ferme is produced by the Perrin family — the same family behind Château de Beaucastel, one of the most revered estates in Chateauneuf-du-Pape. Drawing on generations of southern Rhône expertise, the Perrins created La Vieille Ferme as their benchmark everyday wine: genuine Rhône character at a price that makes it a weekly staple. The Blanc is a blend of Grenache Blanc, Bourboulenc, Roussanne, and Ugni Blanc sourced from the Ventoux appellation, with 10% of the Grenache Blanc fermented in small Limousin oak barrels to add just enough texture and roundness. Now in 3.0L bag-in-box format — equivalent to four standard bottles, staying fresh for up to six weeks after opening. At $29.98, this is the white wine you keep on the counter all summer.
Pale gold with a bright, inviting hue. The nose is fresh and aromatic — citrus blossom, ripe pear, and a hint of peach — with a subtle roundness from the oak-fermented Grenache Blanc. On the palate: crisp, dry, and food-friendly, with flavors of green apple, lemon zest, and white stone fruit carried by lively acidity and a clean mineral finish. The bag-in-box format preserves freshness and eliminates waste — pour a glass whenever you want, and the wine stays as fresh as the day you opened it. Pair with grilled fish, roast chicken, light pasta, fresh salads, goat cheese, or charcuterie. The perfect porch, patio, or picnic pour.

Expert Reviews - Vintage 2020
James Suckling 94 Points | This has a pretty nose with dark spices, nut shell and cedar notes with a dark fruit backbone, following through to a medium body with firm and finely polished tannins that go on and on. Refined and nicely balanced with velvety texture. Lingering and chalky finish. Try after 2026.
Vinous 93 Points | The 2020 Sociando Mallet has retained its impressive aromatics from its showing in barrel with beautifully defined blackberry and raspberry fruit, pressed violet and light cedar aromas. The palate is medium-bodied with firm backbone, a little powdery in texture, fine backbone with ample freshness and tension towards its graphite-infused finish. Bravo!
The Wine Advocate 92 Points | The 2020 Sociando-Mallet is very attractive, exhibiting aromas of cassis and plums mingled with notions of pencil shavings, loamy soil, tobacco leaf and licorice. Medium to full-bodied, deep and layered, with lively acids and powdery tannins, it's a strong effort from a site that always does well in warm vintages. The 2020 is a blend of 53% Merlot, 46% Cabernet Sauvignon and 1% Cabernet Franc.
Decanter 92 Points | Wonderfully fragrant on the nose, just stopping short of being potent. Glorious perfumed scents and rich, ripe black fruits. Clean and clear, this has a lively energy to it and a little bit of liquorice which gives a savoury, dark and sticky edge to the fruit. Clarity, classicism and precision on show. Sculpted, muscular, grippy and chewy. Excellent potential with a slate and coffee-toned finish.
Domaine Gilbert Picq Chablis 2024 750ml
Domaine Gilbert Picq Chablis — Burgundy 2024
Domaine Gilbert Picq is one of Chablis' most respected traditional estates, and a benchmark producer for the appellation's purest, most mineral-driven style. This village-level Chablis is crafted without any oak contact — fermented and aged entirely in stainless steel to let the Kimmeridgian limestone soils speak without interference. The result is quintessential Chablis: steely, focused, and mineral-laden, with the flinty seashell essence that only this corner of Burgundy can produce. Burghound awarded it a Purple Heart Outstanding Top Value distinction.
The nose is precise and inviting: green apple, lemon zest, white flowers, and a signature streak of wet stone and oyster shell. On the palate, it is lean and focused with vibrant acidity, pure Chardonnay fruit, and a long, saline, mineral finish that lingers beautifully. Extremely age-worthy, it rewards patience — but is equally compelling in its vibrant youth.
Burghound — Purple Heart Outstanding Top Value — "Quintessential Chablis with steely focus and mineral precision."

Chateau Montelena ESTATE Cabernet Sauvignon 2018 750ml
Expert Reviews - Vintage 2018
Vinous 96 Points | The 2018 Cabernet Sauvignon Estate is impressive. Elegant and poised, the 2018 is a wine of reserve at this stage. Dark red/purplish berry fruit, mint, sage, spice, mocha and dried flowers open first, followed by a kick of vibrant acids that lends notable energy throughout. All this young Cabernet needs is time in the bottle to fully come together. I won't be surprised if it turns out to be a touch more compelling than the 2019 tasted alongside it. Truth be told, both vintages are captivating, but for very different reasons. Superb.
The Wine Advocate 95 Points | Currently being offered to mailing list members as part of a three-vintage pack (2008, 2013, 2018 for $700), the 2008 Cabernet Sauvignon Estate is a killer wine that should continue to drink well for another 15 years or so. It offers up evolved notes of cigar box but remains fresh, with intense redcurrant and cassis still in evidence on the nose. Medium to full-bodied, it's silky, aristocratic in bearing and long on the finish.
Decanter 93 Points | Considerably more depth than the Napa Valley release, although a bit shy on the nose at first. After oxygen exposure, aromas of grilled plums, lilies and roasted peppers frame a black-fruited core. The texture is fantastic, showing off a sweet, rich but classic frame that is both coating and refreshing. Finished with a beautifully earthy, iron-like quality.
Winemaker Description
Fresh and lively, the wine opens exclusively with raspberry, mint and plum sauce. The baking spices soon follow, leaning clove initially but with plenty of cedar and vanilla. Still subtle, the ripe fruit elements, mostly cassis and fig at this stage, lurk beneath the surface along with beautiful hints of graphite and toasted sage, awaiting additional time in glass. Still very tightly wound, it’s the texture and mouthfeel that drive the palate initially.
The tannins in particular are somewhat coarse but not so angular to overshadow the abundant dark fruit. The dynamic tension on the mid-palate serves to focus and magnify the layers of black cherry, cocoa powder, and black pepper, before turning slightly earthy and dusty.
The structure is pronounced, but still harmonious and well defined. It’s in the transition to the finish that the acidity materializes in almost candy-like fashion, a beautiful contrast to the supple tannins. Here the wine’s density shines elegantly, well balanced between smoky, espresso bean and delicate, dried blackberry. It’s the latter that defines the finish at this moment, persistent in length and depth.
Beaulieu Vineyards Cabernet Sauvignon GEORGES DE LATOUR 2021 750ml
Expert Reviews — Vintage 2021
Jeb Dunnuck 98+ Points | "Incredibly elegant yet concentrated 2021 that does everything right." Purple-hued, with ample cassis, wild sage, graphite, and darker chocolate aromatics. Picks up a Graves-like gravelly earth character with air. Full-bodied with ripe, polished tannins, beautiful balance, and a great finish. Needs 4–5 years of bottle age but will drink well for 30 years.
James Suckling 98 Points | Intense aromas of iodine, blackcurrants, cedar, sandalwood and mint. Medium to full body with silky tannins that spread across the palate and expand in a balanced, harmonized way. Hints of chocolate and tar. Better in a few years — try 2027 and beyond.
Wine Spectator 95 Points | Packed with dark, winey flavors of blackcurrant and blackberry paste underscored with alder, sweet tobacco, warm paving stone and black licorice. Violet accent fills the background. Polished finish makes it accessible now, with plenty of life ahead. Drink now through 2042. — Wine Spectator’s #2 Wine of the Year 2024.
Winemaker Notes
A truly remarkable vintage of BV’s iconic flagship. The bouquet is intense with wild sage, blackcurrant, cedar, and fresh mint. The palate is expansive and full-bodied with layers of ripe blackberry, redcurrant, and red rose petal alongside graphite, licorice root, gravelly stone, and dark chocolate. French oak aging adds sandalwood, clove, and Ceylon cinnamon. The signature "Rutherford Dust" tannins are silky, polished, and fine-grained, finishing long with a cocoa powder texture.
Slightly reserved upon release but incredibly drinkable — significant presence, depth, and concentration foreshadowing cellar-worthy potential across the next few decades.
Tasting & Pairings
Cassis, wild sage, graphite, dark chocolate, blackberry, cedar, sandalwood, and Rutherford Dust. Full-bodied with polished, fine-grained tannins and extraordinary length. Decant generously now or cellar through 2042+.
- Prime rib or dry-aged ribeye — the wine’s concentration and tannin structure demand equally serious beef.
- Braised lamb shank with herbs — the sage and cedar notes mirror herbed, slow-cooked meats.
- Dark chocolate truffles — the cocoa powder finish and chocolate aromatics are a decadent match.
ZD Wines Cabernet Sauvignon Napa Valley 2022 750mL
Expert Reviews - Vintage 2022
The Wine Enthusiast by Elaine Chukan Brown writes 92 Points | Generous and energetic, this Cabernet Sauvignon joins flavors of baked cherries and cranberries with a sprinkle of spice, vanilla and mocha cream, and almost-tobacco spices. Fine, persistent tannins carry through a long finish.
Winemaker Description
The 2022 growing season began with a mild spring that warmed into a temperate summer. The certified-organic grapes for this 2022 Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon matured smoothly and steadily, with a heat spike in early September that helped ripen the fruit to an ideal brix.
95 Points, Double Gold Medal
San Francisco Int'l Wine Competition, 2025
94 Points, Platinum Medal
Monterey Wine Competition, 2025
Gold Medal Pacific Rim Int'l Wine Competition, 2025
Following ZD’s signature style of producing big, ripe, fruit-forward wines, we sourced the grapes from small, organically certified vineyards, each with its own unique “terroir.” Each vineyard lot was fermented separately in small open-top fermenters and punched down three times a day, ensuring a gentle but effective extraction of color and tannins.
The individual lots were then aged in small American Oak cooperage for a year until final blending. The wine was returned to barrel and aged for an additional year before bottling.
This wine has a beautiful, deep ruby color with nuanced aromas blending cassis, anise, cola, black cherry pie, and subtle hints of baking spices complemented with cedar and vanilla. On the palate, red and dark fruits are forward and bright with fine, well-integrated tannins that gives it an unctuous mouthfeel. Lingering hints of blackberry, cocoa and toasty vanilla round out the long, lush finish. The balance of this wine leads to it drinking wonderfully now and it will continue to develop more complexity with age.

Cline Rock Carved Cabernet Sauvignon Alexander Valley 2023 750ml
Cline Rock Carved Cabernet Sauvignon — Alexander Valley 2023
In prehistoric times, a rampaging Russian River carved the Alexander Valley — leaving behind sedimentary rock that defines the vineyard soils to this day, while the towering surrounding hills trap summer heat like an oven. It is this dramatic geological history that gives Rock Carved its name and its character. The wine is sourced from the Rio Lago Vineyard, owned and managed by the Horowitz family since 1990 — a site at the western foothills of the Mayacamas Mountain range that experiences one of the wettest microclimates within the Alexander Valley AVA. Planted in diverse clay-loam and silty-loam soils, the vineyard is cooled each evening by marine air moving in along the Russian River from the Pacific Ocean. The combination of daytime heat to ripen the grapes and cool evening air to preserve freshness and acidity is the key to producing ultra-premium quality Cabernet Sauvignon here.
Grapes are hand-harvested at night, sorted, and gently destemmed. Fermentation is carried out by native yeasts, warming to temperatures peaking at 100°F, with the wine left on skins for 24 days. After gentle pressing, the wine undergoes malolactic fermentation in barrel and ages for 14 months in 50% new French oak. The result is full-bodied, multilayered, and genuinely complex: blackberry, black plum, and black currant, with cedar, leather, and mocha, balanced acidity, smooth rich tannins, and a long, powerful finish. James Suckling awarded it 91 points; Wine Enthusiast 90 points.

Domaine Champalou Vouvray Sec 2024 750ml
Domaine Champalou | Vouvray Sec | Loire Valley | 2024
Vouvray is Chenin Blanc’s spiritual home — a small appellation on the Loire’s right bank where the grape has been grown for centuries in the region’s distinctive tuffeau limestone soils. Domaine Champalou, run by Céline and Didier Champalou, is one of the appellation’s most beloved estates: biodynamically farmed, meticulous in the cellar, and utterly consistent in producing Vouvray of purity and grace. The Sec (dry) is the entry point into their range and it is a masterclass in what Chenin Blanc can do when the terroir is right and the winemaking gets out of the way. Stony minerality from the limestone, luscious almost-honeyed fruit, and delicate floral notes combine on a palate that is simultaneously fresh and textural — the kind of wine that seems effortless but is anything but. Serve cold, drink often.
- Appellation: Vouvray AOC, Loire Valley, France
- Varietal: 100% Chenin Blanc
- Style: Sec (dry)

"Céline Champalou’s Vouvray is always a joy to drink. The wine seems so pure, as if it bubbled up out of the limestone into a cool, limpid pool tended by nymphs and satyrs who pour it into the mouths of weary souls. That’s what I feel, anyway, when I grab a bottle from the fridge."

- Poultry: Roasted chicken, turkey, or grilled meats with herb butter.

Silverado Vineyards Cabernet Sauvignon Estate Grown 2023 750ml
Silverado Vineyards Cabernet Sauvignon Estate Grown — Napa Valley 2023
Silverado Vineyards is one of Napa Valley’s most storied estates — founded in 1981 by Ron and Diane Miller and her mother, Lillian Disney, on historic vineyard sites in the Stags Leap District that had been planted to Cabernet as far back as the 1960s. For years, the family sold their fruit to neighboring wineries building global reputations for excellence. Then they decided it was time to make their own wines — their own expressions of the Napa Valley they loved. Today, under the ownership of Foley Family Wines and the leadership of Courtney Foley, Silverado continues that legacy with over 300 acres planted across some of Napa’s most celebrated AVAs: Stags Leap District, Yountville, Coombsville, Carneros, and Napa Valley proper. The Estate Grown Cabernet is their benchmark expression — a wine that has earned over 40 scores of 90 points or higher from the world’s top critics. The 2023 earned 93 points from Wine Spectator.

Mas Blanch i Jove Petit Sao Blanc Costers del Segre 2023 750ml
Understanding Mas Blanc i Jove
Winemaker Description
Petit Saó Blanc is a young white wine from Catalonia, Spain that contains Garnatxa, Macabeu, Viogner and Riesling.
Costers del Segre is a region in northwestern Catalonia. It's hilly and therefore a little cooler. This makes the area very suitable for different grape varieties than those grown in the rest of the province.
Macabeo and white Grenache are naturally abundant, but Viognier and even Riesling are also planted—for this wine, for example.
Memo Summary Notes
Primary Varietals - Macabeu, Grenache Blanc, Viogner, Riesling
The Mas Blanch i Jové Petit Saó Blanc 2023 (often listed as Petit Blanc Saó) is a vibrant, organic white blend from the high-altitude vineyards of the Costers del Segre DO in Catalonia, Spain. It is known for its "mountain wine" freshness and unique blend of Mediterranean and continental grape varieties.
Types of Alcohol and Their Characteristics
Alcohol comes in various forms, including beer, wine, and spirits. Each type has distinct characteristics, flavors, and alcohol content. For instance, beer is typically lower in alcohol and often enjoyed casually, while spirits like vodka or whiskey have a higher concentration. Understanding these differences helps people select the right drink for each occasion.
Health Benefits of Moderate Alcohol Consumption
Many studies indicate that moderate alcohol consumption can offer some health benefits, such as improved heart health. However, moderation is key, because excessive drinking can lead to serious health risks. Therefore, enjoying a glass of red wine with dinner might be beneficial, but overindulgence can negate those advantages.

Alcohol often plays a significant role in social gatherings and celebrations. It can enhance the enjoyment of events, bringing people together. However, it's important to consume responsibly. Alcohol should be enjoyed in moderation, ensuring everyone can have a good time while prioritizing safety and wellbeing.
Types of Alcoholic Beverages
There are various types of alcohol that cater to different tastes and preferences. The most common types include beer, wine, and spirits, each offering unique flavors and experiences. For instance, beer is often enjoyed for its refreshing nature and comes in various styles, such as lagers and ales. Wine, made from fermented grapes, offers a wide range of tastes, from sweet to dry. Spirits, which are distilled beverages like whiskey, vodka, and rum, present a stronger alcohol content, making them versatile for cocktails. Understanding these different types of alcohol can enhance your drinking experience and help you choose the right beverage for any occasion.
The Benefits of Moderate Consumption
When consumed in moderation, different types of alcohol can offer certain benefits. Research suggests that moderate wine consumption, particularly red wine, may be associated with heart health due to its antioxidants. Beer, rich in B vitamins and silica, can contribute to bone health. However, it's essential to note that moderation is key because overconsumption can lead to adverse effects. Therefore, knowing the right amount can allow you to enjoy these benefits while minimizing risks associated with excessive drinking.
Making Informed Choices
Understanding the different types of alcohol and their effects is vital for responsible drinking. It’s important to know your limits and the impact each type of alcohol can have on your body. For example, spirits can have higher alcohol concentration compared to beer or wine, so pacing yourself and choosing lighter options may sometimes be wiser. This knowledge not only helps you enjoy alcohol safely but also enriches your social experiences. As a result, you can navigate the world of alcohol with confidence and enjoyment.

Beringer Vineyards KNIGHTS VALLEY Cabernet Sauvignon 2022 750ml
About This Wine
Beringer's Knights Valley Cabernet Sauvignon has long been one of California's benchmark expressions of the variety — a wine that bridges Napa's richness with Sonoma's elegance. Sourced from the volcanic soils of Knights Valley, just east of the Mayacamas Mountains, the 2022 vintage delivers everything this appellation is known for: depth, structure, and a sense of place.
The 2022 growing season brought warmth and richness, yielding bold layers of blackcurrant, plum, and boysenberry, accented by dark chocolate, sage, and hints of tobacco and cedar. Extended maceration extracted maximum color and flavor, while 14 months in French oak (30% new) added spice and texture without overwhelming the fruit. Fine-grained tannins and bright acidity give this wine both immediate appeal and genuine aging potential.
Tasting Notes

- Nose: Blackcurrant, boysenberry, cassis, dark chocolate, sage, cedar, wild lavender
- Palate: Medium-to-full body, plush sandy tannins, vibrant acidity, baking spice, crushed stone

House of Brown is a second-generation wine label under the BROWN Napa Valley umbrella, which also includes Chaos Theory and is anchored by flagship Brown Estate.
The Brown family have been in Napa since 1980. Siblings Deneen, Coral, and David began making wine in 1996. Raised by two medical professionals in a “Blue-Zone” household in Southern California, they all pitched in at their parents’ medical clinic. There, they adopted what would become a guiding principle in their wine business: Do no harm.
The creation of House of Brown was inspired by an extraordinary community of wine consumers who for over two decades had been finding themselves at home with Brown Estate, and in 2017 began assembling at the family’s then newly opened Brown Downtown Napa tasting room. This period marked an evolution in wine consumer demographics, with the industry at large seeing an influx of young and culturally diverse enthusiasts coming to the fore — dynamics that have been manifest at Brown for decades.
House of Brown was established in 2018 to expand access to the Brown wine experience, then nearly 25 years strong. The label designs are an homage to the brand’s Feel Seen ethos, and to the sense of welcome and belonging that are hallmarks at Brown. Produced with the same commitment to purity and balance that is foundational to Brown Estate, House of Brown wines are regeneratively farmed, certified sustainable, and vegan-friendly.
House of Brown is 100% family-owned + 100% Black-owned, and the brand is women-led.
Memo Summary Notes
