Ardbeg An Oa Single Malt Scotch 750ml
Islay Single Malt Scotch Whisky | Port Ellen, Islay / Scotland
Size: 750ml | Non Chill-Filtered
Ardbeg is one of Islay’s most legendary distilleries — a remote, windswept outpost on the southern shore of the island that has been producing some of Scotland’s most intensely peated single malts since 1815. For devotees of smoky whisky, Ardbeg is a pilgrimage destination; for everyone else, it is a revelation.
An Oa (pronounced “an-OH”, named for the Oa peninsula at Islay’s southern tip) is the most approachable expression in the Ardbeg range — and the most deliberately rounded. Its singular character comes from time spent in a bespoke oak Gathering Vat, where whiskies from multiple cask types — sweet Pedro Ximénez, spicy virgin charred oak, and intense ex-bourbon — are brought together to harmonize before bottling. The result is Ardbeg’s hallmark peat and dark chocolate, mellowed by a delectable smooth sweetness: aniseed, silky butterscotch, black pepper, and clove, rising to an intense crescendo of flavor. Non chill-filtered, as it should be.
“A dram with smoky power, mellowed by a delectable, smooth sweetness. Hallmark Ardbeg peat, dark chocolate and aniseed are wrapped in smooth, silky butterscotch, black pepper and clove, before rising to an intense crescendo of flavour.”
— Ardbeg Distillery
Casks: Pedro Ximénez · Virgin charred oak · Ex-bourbon · Gathering Vat finishing
Non chill-filtered
Serve: Neat or with a few drops of water to open the peat. Pairs with dark chocolate, smoked meats, or aged cheddar.

Nikka - Whisky from The Barrel 102.8 Proof 750ml
94 Points Whisky Advocate | Number 1 in the 2018 Top 20. Notably balanced and elegant, the colorful palette of whiskies combines for tremendous depth of flavor. Soft, sweet butterscotch and orange peel meet poached pears and stone fruits. Earthiness appears as dried autumn leaves, coffee, old oak, and tobacco. Among the tangle of spices, tasters identified chili pepper, allspice, cloves, and universally adored its ginger note. Finally, wisps of smoke and sea salt. Overall, it feels generously malty, with the grain whisky lending broad sweetness and supple mouthfeel across the long finish. Beyond its delightful flavors, Nikka From the Barrel presents some paradoxes worthy of contemplation over a glass. It is a classic, yet new to the U.S. It is typically Japanese, yet singularly magnificent. It is delightful sipped neat and also blossoms with water. Even the simple, squat bottle is in contrast to the profound complexity within. (Fortunately, the 500 ml bottle offered in other markets received a supersizing for U.S. drinkers.) The great majority of new Japanese whiskies now arriving to our shores are so rare and so expensive that they seem intended only for elite whisky lovers. Nikka From the Barrel is a consummate Japanese blend for anyone to enjoy. - Winter 2018
91 Points Beverage Tasting Institute | Dark amber color. Aromas of cinnamon pastry, pickled ginger, sourdough, honey, and raisins with a silky, crisp, fruity medium body and a tingling, compelling, medium-length crepes, dulce de leche, butter-poached pear, and toasted spice cake finish. A rich and toasty Japanese blended whisky that offers big character that will stand up in craft cocktails.
Nikka From The Barrel, according to those behind it, was first introduced into Japan back in 1986, and is considered a coveted expression for travelers to bring back from its homeland. It is a Japanese blended whisky, bringing together a very complex mix of more than 100 different batches of malt whisky and grain whisky produced at Nikka’s Yoichi and Miyagikyo distilleries, and aged in multiple types of casks: ex-bourbon barrels and puncheons, ex-sherry butts, and refilled, recharred and remade hogsheads. While non-age statement in nature, importer Hotaling & Co. did note the blend undergoes three to six months of additional aging at Nikka’s aging cellar to help in the marriage of flavors. Cappelletti Amaro Alta Verde 750ml
Cappelletti · Amaro Alta Verde · Trentino-Alto Adige · Italy
Antica Erboristeria Cappelletti was founded in 1909 in the historic Piazza Fiera in the center of Trento — a firm rooted from the very beginning in the tradition of herbs, roots, and flowers of the Alpine foothills. Today, four generations later, Luigi and Maddalena Cappelletti continue all production in-house from their home in Aldeno, 20 km south of Trento, surrounded by vineyards and apple orchards. Alta Verde is their traditional wormwood amaro: a style that was once common throughout the Adriatic but has become increasingly rare over the last half century. This is the real thing — uncompromising, botanical, and built for those who take their bitters seriously.
The principal ingredient is assenzio — a variety of wormwood — framed and lightened by a complementary blend of alpine herbs, citrus, and spice. The result is a deeply bitter, aromatic amaro with a drying finish and genuine complexity. Best enjoyed with citrus and tonic or soda, over ice with a big squeeze of lemon, or in cocktails where Alta Verde adds depth and a drying effect to balance sweeter drinks.

Kilchoman Islay Single Malt Machir Bay 750ml
Kilchoman was founded in 2005 on the remote western shore of Islay — the first farm distillery built on the island in over 124 years. Anthony Wills set out to make whisky the old-fashioned way: growing barley on site, floor malting a portion of the production, and distilling in small batches with an obsessive focus on quality over volume. In just two decades, Kilchoman has become one of the most exciting names in Scotch, earning a devoted following among those who believe Islay deserves more than one or two great distilleries.
Machir Bay is their flagship — named after the two kilometres of wild, wind-swept beach on Islay’s west coast where turbulent Atlantic seas meet stunningly beautiful sunsets. A vatting of bourbon and sherry cask maturations, it is designed to showcase the full Kilchoman character: peated, coastal, and layered. The nose opens with lemon zest, vanilla, and a distinct maritime influence, giving way to floral intensity, juicy peach, and pear. The palate is generous — tropical fruit, dried sultanas, warming smoke, honey, malt, and butterscotch. The finish is long and complex, with sherry-soaked fruit, cracked black pepper, sea salt, and waves of citrus sweetness underpinned by maritime peat smoke.
“The dramatic coastal landscape of Machir Bay is reflected in the rugged complexity of this award-winning single malt, the flagship of the Kilchoman range.” — Anthony Wills, Kilchoman Founder

Glenrothes 8 Year Old By Gordon & Macphail's Single Malt 750ml
Producer Description
Situated within the picturesque Spey valley, Rothes is home to five distilleries all tucked along the tiny main street - unbeknown to passing visitors. Amongst these is Glenrothes hidden in a small glen on the outskirts of the village.
Today Glenrothes single malt is used as the heart of Cutty Sark blended whisky. Approaching the distillery your eyes are drawn to the right where the village graveyard stretches up the hill. As whisky matures it evaporates, this is known as 'the angels share.' Feeding off the evaporated whisky is a black sooty fungus, which gives an eerie atmosphere to the place. The blackened grave stones under the shadows of tall trees surrounded by distillery buildings.
Tasting Notes: Toasted malt with fruit aromas, hints of green apples and fresh coconut. A subtle salty sea air is also present. Sweet with floral and fruit flavours, banana, and lemonade with a slight walnut edge.

Laurent Cazottes Goutte de MAUZAC ROSE Eau de Vie 375ml
Producer Description
Laurent makes four eaux-de-vie: – two from rare, almost extinct grape varieties: Prunelard and Mauzac Rose – a Pear Williams – a Greengage Each eau-de-vie is made from organic fruits, harvested ripe then dried on mats to concentrate sugars/flavors. The dried fruits are then pealed one by one, cut in half, the pit/seeds/stalk are removed as to keep only the flesh of the ripe fruit. Only then are they crushed into a juice and fermented. On average the wine obtained is about 11% alc./ vol.
This wine is distilled in a pot still to 66% alc./vol. Laurent bottles each eau-de-vie at 45% alc./vol after reducing the proof slowly by adjunction of demineralized water.
An indigenous grape to the Tarn region of Southwest France, the Laurent Cazottes Goutte de Mauzac Rose Eau-de-vie is one of Laurent Cazottes’ true passions. This is not a fine nor a marc, but the wine and the pomace are left together during the distillation.
Hence, this is an Eau de Vie de Raisin. Laurent Cazottes is committed to reviving these heritage varietals and the resulting spirits are pure expressions of the fruit from which they are made. Biodynamic and organic viticulture are practiced.
