La Vieille Ferme Rouge 3.0L Box Wine
La Vieille Ferme · Rouge · Ventoux · Rhône Valley, France · 3.0L Box Wine
La Vieille Ferme is produced by the Perrin family — the same family behind Château de Beaucastel, one of the most celebrated estates in all of Chateauneuf-du-Pape. Drawing on their deep roots in the southern Rhône, the Perrins created La Vieille Ferme as their benchmark everyday wine: genuine Rhône character, vinified in the tradition of Beaucastel, at a price that makes it a weekly staple. The Rouge is a blend of Grenache, Syrah, Carignan, and Cinsault sourced from the Ventoux appellation — a wine built for the table, for friends, and for any occasion that calls for a generous, crowd-pleasing red. Now in 3.0L bag-in-box format, equivalent to four standard bottles and staying fresh for up to six weeks after opening. At $29.95, this is the red wine you keep on hand all year.
Ruby-purple in the glass with an inviting nose of cassis, dark plum, and fresh herbs. On the palate: richly fruity and supple, with flavors of plum, blackberry, and a stony, savory undercurrent that gives the wine real length and definition. Wine & Spirits awarded 90 points, noting its “tangy berry flavors playing over a stony savor that holds the wine long and clean.” The bag-in-box format preserves freshness and eliminates waste — pour a glass whenever you want, and the wine stays as vibrant as the day you opened it. Pair with grilled lamb, roast chicken, beef stew, pasta with tomato sauce, pizza, or aged cheeses.

Badia a Coltibuono Chianti Classico RISERVA Organic 2020 750ml
Producer Notes
The Chianti Classico Riserva is central to Badia a Coltibuono’s vision and its deep relationship with place and history. Using the traditional blend of Sangiovese, Colorino, Canaiolo, and Ciliegiolo — propagated by massal selection — has always been the backbone of the wine. Modern techniques such as gravity vinification bring forth the best expression of the fruit, while traditional approaches — indigenous yeast fermentation and aging in oak casks rather than barriques — are central to its authenticity. The winery’s long-established certified organic practices are fundamental to the truly unique character of the grapes.
Sangiovese, Colorino, Canaiolo, Ciliegiolo.

Gonzalez Byass Vermouth La Copa Rojo Sweet 750ml
A vermouth unlike any other — Gonzalez Byass La Copa Rojo Sweet is built on a Cream Sherry base rather than traditional wine, drawing on nearly two centuries of sherry-making expertise from Jerez, Spain. Founded in 1835, Gonzalez Byass brings a distinctly Andalusian character to the vermouth category: smooth, velvety, and richly aromatic in a way that standard vermouths simply can’t replicate.
The base is a blend of 75% Palomino and 25% Pedro Ximénez (PX) grapes, infused with six botanicals — wormwood, clove, nutmeg, cinnamon, orange peel, and savory. The nose is intensely spiced, with clove and cinnamon at the fore. On the palate it’s lush and velvety, the natural sweetness of the PX balanced by an elegant, lingering bitterness. Exceptional on its own over ice, and a standout in a Negroni or Manhattan.
Producer Description
La Copa Rojo is crafted at the historic Gonzalez Byass bodega in Jerez using Cream Sherry as its base — a uniquely Spanish approach that delivers a smoother, richer texture than wine-based vermouths. The result is a perfectly balanced sweet vermouth with deep sherry heritage and classic botanical complexity.

Cocchi Vermouth di Torino Extra Dry 500ml
Cocchi Vermouth di Torino Extra Dry — Piedmont, Italy 500ml
Released to mark Cocchi’s 130th anniversary, Vermouth di Torino Extra Dry is a landmark expression from the birthplace of vermouth itself. Labeled “Ricetta Piemontese” — Piedmontese Recipe — every relevant ingredient in this vermouth comes exclusively from Piemonte, reflecting a deep and uncompromising bond with the region. While classic dry vermouths were traditionally the domain of Southeast France, Cocchi has crafted a distinctly Piedmontese answer to the category — and it is exceptional.
The wine base is Cortese, the same grape behind Gavi DOCG, lending a crisp, mineral freshness. Artemisia Absinthium (wormwood) sourced 100% from the Piedmont mountains provides the aromatic backbone, while Menta di Pancalieri — a local peppermint variety — and lemon round out the profile with bright, herbaceous lift. The result is a dry vermouth of remarkable precision and regional character, equally at home in a classic Dry Martini or sipped chilled on its own.
“Ricetta Piemontese — every ingredient from Piemonte. Cocchi Extra Dry is the definitive Piedmontese answer to the dry vermouth category.”
- Producer: Cocchi, Asti, Piedmont, Italy
- Style: Extra Dry Vermouth
- Size: 500ml
- Wine Base: Cortese (Gavi DOCG grape)
- Key Botanicals: Artemisia Absinthium (Piedmont wormwood), Menta di Pancalieri (local peppermint), lemon

A milestone release from one of Italy’s greatest vermouth houses — Cocchi Extra Dry is the Piedmontese Dry Martini’s perfect companion.
Nikolaihof Gruner Veltliner Zwickl BIODYNAMIC 2023 750ml
Expert Reviews - Vintage 2022
Stuart Pigott writes 91 Points | Some will consider this unfiltered, light-bodied gruner veltliner a natural, but whichever way you see it this has stacks of crisp apple fruit and white pepper character. I love the interplay of lemony freshness with a touch of leesy creaminess at the joyfully bright finish. Just 11.5% alcohol. From biodynamically grown grapes with Demeter certification. Drink or hold. Screw cap.
Anne Krebiehl MW of Vinhous writes 90 Points | The 2022 Grüner Veltliner Zwickl Unfiltriert is named after the_ Zwickl_ concept of cloudy, unfiltered beer. Winemaker Nikolaus Saahs Jr. emphasizes that the term refers only to not filtering the wine and is a style that has been made since 2014. Vinified in stainless steel, the grapes are grown in Mautern and Stein, i.e. on both banks of the Danube. Intense leesy freshness and yeastiness rise from the glass. The palate is mild, smooth and rounded, with a white pepper notion and an almost perfumed, floral quality to the yeastiness on the mid-palate. There is lovely freshness on the finish. (Bone-dry) Drinking 2023-2030.

Gramona is the undisputed standard-bearer of Corpinnat — the prestigious new appellation born from a breakaway group of the finest traditional-method sparkling wine producers in the Penèdes, committed to stricter quality standards, longer aging, and a deeper expression of Catalan terroir. Founded in 1881 in Sant Sadurní d'Anoia, Gramona has farmed biodynamically for decades and is one of Spain's most respected sparkling wine houses, producing wines that rival the finest Champagnes in complexity and longevity. La Cuvée Aliances is their entry into the Corpinnat range: a traditional-method Brut crafted from the classic indigenous varieties — Xarel·lo, Macabeo, and Parellada — grown on certified organic and biodynamic vineyards in the heart of the Penèdes.
The color is pale yellow with steel edges — white gold in the glass. Bakery notes of brioche and almonds add depth, with balsamic hints of fennel and bay leaf giving a distinctive Catalan character. On the palate, it is fresh, precise, and beautifully balanced — fine persistent bubbles, lively acidity, and a clean, mineral-driven finish.

Brendel Cabernet Sauvignon Cooper's Reed Napa Valley 2021 750ml
The Secret Ingredient Is Dirt — Brendel’s Multi-Vineyard Napa Cabernet
Brendel sources from some of Napa Valley’s most coveted sites — the eastern side of Rutherford, the highest elevations of Howell Mountain, two diverse plots in St. Helena, and a steep parcel in Oak Knoll. Their philosophy is simple: great wine starts with great dirt. The 2021 Cooper’s Reed Cabernet Sauvignon is a fresh, vibrant expression of Napa’s famed grape — harvested under moonlight, fermented cool, and aged 9 months in upright oak casks to preserve bright red and black fruit character.
The Wine Advocate 90 Points | Made by the Heitz team led by winemaker Brittany Sherwood, Brendel's 2021 Cooper's Reed Cabernet Sauvignon now includes a sufficient amount of Sonoma fruit to carry a North Coast AVA on the label—this vintage is approximately two-thirds Napa and one-third Sonoma, and the blend includes 5% Petite Sirah and 1% Merlot. Still made in old oak vats to avoid overt wood influence and just medium-bodied, it's something of a throwback stylistically. Although the fruit is quite obvious upfront, combining black cherries and blackberries, the wine is streamlined and somewhat restrained on the palate, finishing with ample length, hints of star anise and a silky texture. (Vintage 2021).

San Francisco Chronicle — “Their range of wines are made from some of the best sites in Napa’s most renowned regions. Each vineyard is chosen for its quality and unique aptitude, with soil types ranging from volcanic to clay to bring out the best in each grape. It’s, as they put it, good dirt.”

Orin Swift EIGHT YEARS In the Desert Zin, Petite Sirah, Syrah Napa Valley 2024 750ml
Winemaker Description
Eight Years in the Desert is the culmination of decades of Orin Swift winemaking — a wine born from an eight-year Zinfandel non-compete agreement entered in 2008 that pushed the team to hone their craft across other varietals, setting the stage for Zinfandel's triumphant return to the lineup.
The 2024 vintage is sourced from vineyards across California, including the historic Monte Rosso vineyard on Sonoma County's Moon Mountain District AVA, as well as Stefani Ranch, Dark Horse, and numerous others. What first catches the eye is the opaque mauve core with a vivid fuchsia rim. The nose opens with aromatics of black plum and boysenberry galette, Tellicherry peppercorn, cedar, and musk. Taut yet supple on entry, the palate delivers wild blackberry, crispy pluot, a hint of fennel, and slate, finishing with soft framing tannins and a close of milk chocolate-covered raspberry.

Ramey Cellars Chardonnay Russian River Valley 2023 750ml
Expert Reviews - Vintage 2023
Decanter 95 Points | Sourced from Lafranchi, Westside Farms, Sonoma Foothills, Martinelli Laughlin, Kilcullen, Dutton Sebastopol, and Frank Johnson—all cool-climate sites with low-vigour soils such as Goldridge loam, planted between 1978 and 2017 and aged for 12 months on the lees in barrel (10% new French oak). This is clean and sleek, a beautifully balanced medium-bodied Chardonnay with luxuriously ripe stone and orchard fruit. Exotic baking spices complement layers of guava, white peach, and macerated mango with apricot. But what’s most impressive is the intensity and purity of the fruit—so precisely delineated, profoundly spicy, and laser-focused. At $50, this is one of the finest, most balanced, and well-structured Chardonnays from the Russian River Valley at this price point.
The Wine Advocate by Erin Brooks 95 Points | Grapes for the 2023 Chardonnay Russian River Valley were harvested over the course of a month, from initial picks on September 13 to the last pick on October 14. Chateau Tour Saint Christophe Saint-Emilion 2021 750ml
Expert Reviews - Vintage 2022
Jeb Dunnuck 96 Points | Spice-laden red and black fruits, leafy tobacco, savory flowers, and new leather notes all shine in the 2022 Château Tour Saint Christophe, another brilliant wine from this team. I love its complexity, and it's medium to full-bodied on the palate, with fine tannins, a layered, elegant mouthfeel, beautifully integrated oak, and a great finish. Based on 80% Merlot and 20% Cabernet Franc.
James Suckling 96 Points | A very good year for Tour Saint Christophe, showing great depth and flavor despite high alcohol. Abundant dark minerals, fresh blackberries, black olives and a hint of cocoa powder. Pretty full-bodied and firm with crunchy, reactive tannins and a long and flavorful finish. Lots of density here.
Decanter 94 Points | Gorgeously scented on the nose, smooth, round and focused with purity and persistence. Tannins are so fine, really sculpting this wine, with a clear bite and almost strict tang to the overall structure giving a sense of tension. I like the terroir aspect, the saltiness but still with juicy richness. Less ample than Bellefonte but more precise.
The Wine Advocate 93+ Points | This first vintage under the denomination of Grand Cru Classé, the 2022 Tour Saint Christophe is excellent, offering up aromas of spices, cassis, dark wild berries, orange peel and licorice mingled with delicate oaky notes. Medium to full-bodied, satiny and concentrated, it's layered and textured and framed by powdery, velvety tannins enhanced by a racy, pure, fresh finish. It should gain raciness with some time in the cellar.

Their Rasteau is a benchmark expression of this rising appellation: 100% estate-grown Grenache, Syrah, and Mourvèdre, co-harvested and co-fermented from south-facing slopes and terraces of stony limestone-clay soils, yielding just 25–38 hl/ha. 2022 was a warm, dry year with late-season rains that restored balance — the result is a wine of beautiful fruity, bright character with real depth and persistence. JS:92 · JD:91 · WS:90. At $37.99, this is biodynamic Rhône at a price that makes it one of the cellar’s great values.
The 2022 opens with intense aromas of black fruit, blueberries, red berries, dried herbs, rosemary, and grilled meat. On the palate: full-bodied and generous, with a beautiful center-palate of ripe berries, chalky mineral, iron, and cooling river stone. Fine, firm tannins and a lively, persistent finish with herbs, peppercorns, and a smoky incense note. Drink now through 2034.

Expert Review - Vintage 2022
- The Wine Advocate — 94 pts: “Pale and bright ruby-colored, more ethereal and elegant with a more perfumed nose than the 2021 vintage. Quite complete and elegant, lighter, with a touch of volatility that lifts it up. Sharp and balanced — tasty, almost salty, a red for food.”
Winemaker Notes
Cume do Avia Colleita Tinto Ribeiro 2022 Colleita No 10 750ml

Materia Prima PetNat Petillant Naturel Method Ancestral 750ml
Winemaker Description
The thirst-quenching Materia Prima Pet-Nat is a delightful combination of floral and fruity notes such as citrus, quince, white pear, and apricot. The wine is vivacious on the palate, with spirited acidity and playful fizz that create a dynamic and energetic sensation.
The bubbles add complexity to the already flavorful profile. Its refreshing, long finish makes it an ideal partner for sunny days and seafood dishes. It's also suitable for sharing with friends while enjoying small bites together.
100% Xarel-lo. “Materia Prima” is what the Spanish call raw ingredients, the stuff that makes the most incredible food and, in this case, wine. Thirst-quenching doesn’t begin to describe this incredible Pet-Nat from Pares Balta, a Spanish winery with roots dating back to the 18th century. Floral and fruity, with notes of citrus, quince, white pear and apricot, the bubbles only enhance its complexity. The finish is long and refreshing, making this the perfect partner for sunny days, seafood fare, and small bites, shared among friends.
Memo Summary Notes
The Materia Prima Pet-Nat by Parés Baltà is a vibrant, natural sparkling wine from the Penedès region of Catalonia, Spain. Unlike the Lambrusco you asked about previously, this is a white "Pétillant Naturel" made primarily from the Xarel·lo grape (the backbone of classic Cava).
While many sparkling wines (like Champagne or Cava) undergo two separate fermentations, this wine is made using the Méthode Ancestrale.
The wine is bottled while it is still finishing its first fermentation.
The CO2 is trapped inside, creating natural bubbles.
It is typically undisgorged, meaning the natural yeast sediment remains in the bottle, giving it a signature cloudy, hazy appearance and a creamy texture.
Because of its high acidity and slightly salty finish, it is a fantastic "food wine":
-
Seafood: Raw oysters, ceviche, or grilled prawns.
-
Tapas: Anchovies, olives, and fried calamari.
-
Soft Cheeses: Fresh goat cheese or a creamy Brie.

Faust is one of Napa Valley’s most compelling Cabernet estates — a project rooted in the belief that great wine speaks distinctly of place. Named for the legendary scholar who pursued knowledge and excellence above all else, Faust channels that same relentless ambition into every vintage. The 2023 Cabernet Sauvignon is 100% Cabernet Sauvignon, aged 20 months in 25% new French oak — a restrained approach that preserves the purity and minerality of the fruit rather than masking it with wood. The 2023 vintage was a cool year in Napa, and Faust is a cool-climate estate: the combination produced a wine of real nerve, structure, and approachability, with ample aging potential. As Estate Director Jen Beloz puts it: “There is purity, intensity, and a savory minerality to every vintage.”
The color is a deep, concentrated ruby. The nose is refined and expressive: red and dark fruit, crushed stones, dried herbs, flowers, and a whisper of salt-cured meat — a savory complexity that sets Faust apart from the valley’s more opulent styles. On the palate, it is tightly woven with a silken mouthfeel — earthy red and black fruits, leafy underbrush, tobacco, and chocolate, framed by fine tannins, balanced structure, and a succulent, minerally finish of outstanding length. -
Meats: Slow-cooked beef short ribs, venison with a berry reduction, or grilled lamb chops.
-
Italian Classics: Orecchiette with a spicy sausage and broccoli rabe ragu.
-
Indulgent: Dark chocolate desserts or a platter of extra-aged Pecorino and blue cheeses.

Clos Puy Arnaud Castillon Cotes de Bordeaux 2022 750ml
Expert Reviews - Vintage 2022
Jane Anson 95 Points | Tasted at the Palmères de Castillon event, where I was a jury member, and this was one of the wines picked out blind. I checked it against a different bottle at home later, and suggest that it is given at least half an hour in a carafe, as it remains fairly closed, but once again this is proof of the quality of 2022, and it's a seriously impressive wine that offers wonderful value. I'm always a fan of Clos Puy Arnaud, and you get the deft precision of the winemaking here, coupled with ripe blueberry and raspberry fruits, liquorice, black tea, pomegranate and slate-scrape tannins.
Vinous 94 Points | The 2022 Clos Puy Arnaud is a dense, extroverted wine. Inky dark fruit, licorice, menthol and cloves are all amplified. Usually Clos Puy Arnaud is more refined, but in 2022, the vintage dominates and speaks loudly. Even so, this is a compelling offering. I look forward to tasting it with bottle age.
The Wine Spectator 93 Points | Sleek and polished, with alluring notes of blackberry puree and warmed cassis that glide through, while fine-grained tannins, a buried chalky spine and a gilding of sweet tobacco add range and length. Shows a mouthwatering floral echo at the end.
Memo Summary Notes
Merlot, Cabernet Franc, Cabernet Sauvignon.
The 2022 Clos Puy Arnaud is a standout release from the Castillon Côtes de Bordeaux appellation, largely considered one of the best "value" wines of this highly acclaimed vintage. Produced by Thierry Valette (whose family famously once owned Château Pavie), this estate is a pioneer in biodynamic viticulture on Bordeaux's Right Bank.
The 2022 vintage in Bordeaux was marked by extreme heat, but Clos Puy Arnaud’s limestone plateau location helped maintain remarkable freshness.
